What is sexual about the recent promotion?

Also, did I miss the outrage over this one?

The Bud Light one where Dylan Mulvaney is in a sudsy bath tub? Or Dylan Mulvaney’s overall online persona? Or both?

Also, the one you linked would never be made today, a white heterosexual couple with a healthy sex life in a media campaign?!? Plus I’m sure that’s misoginistic, or paternalistic, or sexist and definitely racist. jester chased jester

It’s just a beer. Exactly. Just brew it, can it and sell it. You have your marketing Logo… when you start promoting sexual lifestyles, straight or gay or Queer or whatever, you’re not “just a beer” anymore, you’re an influencer.

Advertising firms and advertising departments for corporations selling consumer products have been “influencers” for more than half a century. This isn’t new, no lines have been crossed, even now. This is the backbone of capitalism. They do it because it sells.

Where were you when Budweiser was promoting beastiality?

I don’t know, I was asking. For how hard it’s supposedly being shoved down my throat I haven’t seen any of the ads, only seen it referenced in 3 or 4 IDO threads now.

Or Dylan Mulvaney’s overall online persona?

Ok, I can see how that could do it. Remember I was responding to the claim that sexual ads promoting “straight or gay or Queer or whatever” are the problem though. Seems like if that was honest then, for example, McDonald’s using Cardi B would be something to get pretty worked up about. Is anyone boycotting them that I’ve missed?

Edit: forgot her performance at the superbowl “bud light music fest” rotflol

    This one is pretty good.

A trans recently set the record women’s powerlifting record.

This pissed off a lot of people, so another male power lifter temporarily “identified” as a women and destroyed the recent record the trans set (in a satirical protest to it) LOL

If and when common sense ever returns to our world, there will be an asterisk next to all of these “records” being broken, or better yet a completely separate division for these/them/those people in between or changing genders.

Until then, trans breaking women’s records is a huge slap to the face to all of the real females on our planet.

Capitalism? Do you mean when companies like Budweiser are getting incentives from the Government to promote agendas such as this. Not to mention ESG scores where investment firms such as BlackRock will actually dock your company or not invest in your company depending on how high or low your company’s score is. Say you own a company and don’t want to bow down to political agendas, well? Investment firms don’t care. Don’t want to promote Dylan Mulvany on your beer cans? Bippty Boppity boo we’ll just lower your ESG score and you’ll be screwed. Budweiser knows full well that they aren’t going to sell more beer by promoting Dylan Mulvany. These big companies don’t all want to become so-called “woke” they do it because most of them have to. I’m not much of an expert but that doesn’t sound like much of a free market to me. Just my two cents.

If I was an ad exec and was told I had to conform to some of this crap, I’d make an ad showing a nice mountain stream and a can of the beer. No people in it whatever. Sell the beer, f–k the fad.

Then there will be a movement to remove the asterisk. doah

Yeah, I don’t know what that previous post was referring too as sex has always been used in marketing campaigns to sell. It’s just never been by one of the largest companies ad campaigns supporting gender dysphoria or toward the tiny market share the trans community makes up. There was a similar amount of outrage over Cardi B when WAP came out, pretty sure IDO even had a few threads on it. Kinda like 2 Live Crew before that, although that pre-dated IDO and the internet.

if i ran a company I would never hire a person that uses a pronoun to identify themselves, it would be a constant trip of them going to HR with a complaint about they’re feeling being hurt and I can’t see it nothing but toxic to the workforce environment.

Most companies have to follow EEOC laws.

If you hire a less qualified straight person you’re begging for a lawsuit.

Don’t forget, it didn’t start with the gas chambers. It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One party deciding what is the truth. One party censoring speech and silencing opposition. One party dividing citizens into “Us” and “Them” and calling on their supporters to harass the other side. It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.

Unless you are hiring the “right” race or gender of course, then hiring the less qualified is called affirmative action. coffee

I hired for 30+ years, all levels.
Gotta word it, qualify it and post it correctly.
Make sure my hiring team is “diverse” and understands the needs and what everyone’s role is so that the person they recommend isn’t going to end up causing them more work.
I even fired a few folks who would surprise you.
Document, plan a correction, document, plan a correction, document and walk them out.
Lots of work and mental energy and that’s why there are so many mediocre folks who keep their jobs cause supervisors just don’t want to do the work. If you don’t know “how to do it” work with your HR Director. IF he or she knows their job it is just a matter of you willing to do the work in the short term.
If YOU see a crap employee/workplace atmosphere killer you can bet the rest of your employees do as well.

Finny, just about every one of the major beer companies are “woke” and supporting the lgbt community. So you’re telling me they’re all going to go broke now because of it? One thing I know about Americans is they like their beer and that isn’t changing.

I’ll report back in a couple months when Anheuser Busch’s earnings are released.

You don’t need to wait a couple months gitchi. $6B ain’t chump change even for AB. Costly woke marketing blunder.
