When / why did personal opinion die?

If it’s $3 at the bar, it could be made by the Taliban for all I care.

Some C-Suite with an Ivy League MBA came up with the idea to advertise a polarizing transvestite to a market share dominated by people who likely are on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Mind-Bottling. If that’s the case, I need to start applying to some of these places.

This has been a pretty good thread, lots of good points brought up.

The one thing I’ll contribute is I’m so sick and tired of the past being blamed on the present.

I’ve worked my ass off to get where I’m at in life.

But as a middle aged white male I’m suddenly somehow the scum of the Earth and everything is my fault.

I’m also incredibly fatigued with the whole BLM, LGTB, Woke, Black Months, Gay Months, ramming it down my throat crap.

I don’t hate people that are different than me, and I don’t have signs in my yard announcing that I’m white or that I haven’t cut my dick off.

Yet if I did, it would be considered racist or homophobic to certain people.

What would happen if myself and some buddies got together and organized a parade for straight white males?

    Wouldn’t that create more division?

Why is that? And yet why is the converse to be acceptable, even encouraged?

    You do you, I don’t care. Really, I don’t.

    Not. One. Bit.

If you’re contributing to society and not commiting crimes all is good. Just please keep your personal life to yourself, because nobody cares (or at least they shouldn’t).

Have you seen the bill in California, I believe San Francisco, but not sure, that would give every black resident $5 million dollars? It would also give them $92k per YEAR as reparations!? Now I know historically their ancestors may have gone through some atrocities, but to do this is assinine. Where does it end? Are they forgetting the fact that European whites were slave traded in Africa? Where do I get my money for that?

Gitchi, please point out where I said they’d go broke. If you don’t think this will hurt their bottom line aka sales, you are mistaken in my opinion. They lost more customers than they gained due to a marketing effort. That is a blunder for any company.

Big breweries have lost a ton of market share due to the craft brewery explosion in the last couple decades. They last thing they need is to turn off a bunch of their core client base with a marketing ad targeted at such a small target audience. Marketing 101

The ONLY way I can personally impact something I disagree with and don’t value is not to buy it. Consumerism 101
While my personal dollars may not add up to a lot I will not be the only one who exercises that option. Maybe not Billions of dollars but to the point – they have already lost share to craft brews, getting on the woke wagon to publicly support 3% ( or less of the population) that probably does not even use your product?! For what reason? The left has gone so FAR left it is absurd. To believe otherwise is pure naivete’. The examples are far too many to try and list. How about elected officials ( both sides) set an example for the rest of us and begin to work together for the common good? Set term limits to keep that FABULOUS Golden Egg vision out of the picture so they can’t feed on the public’s back for the rest of their lives.

Do I get a tax credit since I can prove my ancestors had nothing to do with American slavery? I know I will still get blamed for it since I am a white woman loving male.

this isn’t going to cause a huge rush to craft beer. if you liked craft beer, you’d already be drinking it. light beer and craft beer is a world of difference.

my favorite video I saw online regarding this whole ordeal was some guy who dumped all his bud light into the garbage and replaced it with cases of coors. He sure showed them… I can’t wait for the guy to find out that coors is just as big of a supporter of lbgt as bud light is.

I dont think its the fact that they support LBGT, its the fact that they put that trans person on their cans. I could really care less who these companies support, but plastering it all over their cans and advertising is going a bit too far. They can support those causes in many other ways without cramming it down our throats.

i think a big problem is that its really hard to have true dialogue on the internet and most opinions today are voiced on the internet rather than in person. a lot of times the same old topics get talked over to death on the internet and the people who join the “discussions” are not there with an open mind ready to form an opinion based on whats said. they bring their already hardened opinions to the table and just shout them to the group, who, in turn, shouts their opinions back. Happens on this forum every day. Conversations in person go much differently than that in most cases.

Im not gonna say that if the people who have different opinions on this forum were to talk in person anyones minds would be changed, but i can almost guarantee that you would part each other’s company with more understanding for the other persons position and less animosity towards one another. Thats just how face to face conversations go more often than not in my experience.

Do the Irish get any thing. Or are we going to pretend they weren’t the most slaved of all people because they are the wrong color. Or should Africans pay African Americans for still being the largest slave holders of there own colored people. It’s so confusing

I think people expressing their opinions is alive and well, as this forum and other social media show, in excess amounts.

Agreed 100% Crappie, I get together with people I disagree with on political issues all the time, and guess what? We rarely talk about it, we usually talk about areas of shared interest. And when we do venture into politics (or any area of disagreement) it’s usually still a friendly discussion that leaves us understanding one another much better. In online conversations context is lost, usually due to that one “gotcha” sentence that wasn’t really fleshed out correctly or how it was intended.

I think the other problem with written debate is its impossible to detect tone of text vs face to face conversation. Something typed out can easily be misconstrued as aggressive when that was never the intent.

Agree don’t think it is dead at all if anything more and more people are sharing their opinion than ever before.
    Some obviously don’t like that.

Hate to break it to some but Jack Daniels Jim Beam and just about every liquor company openly supports LGBTQ.

    With that I’m out.

Another chapter is uncovered in this latest soap opera…brining up more relevant questions:

Is Coors Light indirectly supporting Trans people too?

Did Kid Rock have a rough experience with a trans person between this photo and today?

Is Kid Rock going over the top to deflect something about himself?

Is Coors Light as crappy of a beer as Bud Light?

I can actually choke down several Coors Light or Bud Light if it’s free. I have to limit myself to 1-2 Miller Lites and only if it’s free. I decide one or two based on the inventory of toilet paper where I happen to be. I swear it’s fermented MiraLAX.

It’s just a beer. Exactly. Just brew it, can it and sell it. You have your marketing Logo… when you start promoting sexual lifestyles, straight or gay or Queer or whatever, your not “just a beer” anymore, your an influencer.

Reef, that’s a normal everyday commercial, the queers are not pushing the life style on us. Telling us we are racist sexist pigs because we don’t adapt to the woman and men are not the same. If you have a weiner you are a man. Even if u dress like a girl. You can pretend all u want. But don’t expect me to pretend with u. Remember being a tranny isn’t a normal thing. It’s mental illnesses that should be addressed and not pressed on us
