When are we going to see the first 100K boat

With boat prices going up and discussions with people at the sports show.

When are we going to see the first 100k nitro, ranger, skeeter or lund? The nitro with 350 merc has to be getting close. I know fully loaded ranger is getting close to 90k with tax title and license.

50K for a tin boat unless aluminum got expensive all of a sudden?? Is inflation of boats just that much? Did motor prices rise? Or are they selling less boats so the values have to come up to keep the same revenue?

Bay boats and offshore boats are not included in my thinking.

Both good and bad is these new boat prices bring used boat prices up with them.

I do like my Rangers, but that boat should not be over 80k.

Aluminum is fairly close in price to fiberglass already.

Just as soon as the barrier of the $100k truck is broken. Can’t pull a cheap boat behind your Cowboy Cadillac

I thought they quit making trucks and are just making truck looking vans now. ;)

Trucks won’t hit 100 but these new fancy truck vans will soon enough

I think it has already happened. Your post made me curious. So I went to the lund website and used their “build your boat” feature. I built a Pro-V GL with the best of the best selections. i.e. 350HP Verado, kicker, top of the line bow mount, and electronics, etc.

The list price for “my boat” as configured was $114,928 after getting the $700 Spring Catch discount.

IMAGINE how you’d feel when your $100K boat got its first scratch!

Seriously where do you draw the line. The problem is that most banks are allowing for 20-25 year loans making it possible for people to make this happen. For gosh sakes that almost as much as some peoples mortgage payments.

The jet boats they run out west frequently run 100+. I saw 29′ with twin diesels on meanchichen for a 190k used not long ago.

I can’t imagine pulling a 20 year loan on a boat…you would almost pay just as much in interest!!!

    Seriously I have a question

How many normal people really need a 100K or even a 70K boat does it help you fish?

Alright lets throw this into the mix.
Why the blip do you need a motor bigger than 300? hell even a 250, unless you are fishing big big water I see this all time on these tiny lakes around here.

Looking at the example ranger bradl110 posted, why would they put HDS7’s on a rig like that? Seems kinda stupid to cut the holes on a rig that costs that much, knowing most buyers would likely add larger graphs.

Charles – Please define “normal” people. And you are asking the wrong question. You included the word “need”. non of this is need-based at all. its all “want”.

Because they couldn’t get w loan for the bigger graphs and payments have cash flow tied )

My buddy that works in the boat industry contended that the high-end fishing boat market is driven 80% by wealthy farmer types.

I totally agree. It is called keeping up with the Jonses.
I would rather put cash into a decent boat, than a fully loaded truck.

Both good and bad is these new boat prices bring used boat prices up with them.

I know a guy that is selling his boat. That same boat if you want new is 10k more a year later fully rigged.

I think the prices are here to stay but if people keep buying new boats then they know there is a market for the 100K boat and will keep selling them as such.

I wonder how the pros are dealing with their new 621 rangers and offloading them with higher hours then a normal person. The Pro discount can’t be that substantial is it?

In full disclosure I do have a MX2025 with a 300. I did get this boat used.

I wonder if this cycle is kinda like the housing market now where the values are up and people are paying more then asking……again.

Everything’s relative. To be honest, in the broad scope of fishing boats a lot of anglers would laugh at what freshwater walleye and bass anglers consider to be “expensive” when it comes to boats.

Outfitting a center console or walkaround for anything beyond inshore/bay fishing and you hit the $100k + mark almost out of the starting gate. The prices guys are paying for new walleye boats might get you a smaller used center console, but you won’t be out in the bluewater with the big boys on a paltry sub-$100k budget.

Twofootitus is the plague of all boat owners, it just hit walleye/bass guys a little later than it hit other forms of angling.

Here is some food for thought. I know for the new Ranger FS series, it went up 10k per model without 1 change being made from 2015-2016. Tell me how that is possible. Personally I would never buy a new fiberglass boat.

I also heard from numerous people that the FS model does not ride as nice as past 2010-2014 620’s and 621’s. The response was exactly the same from each person. Apparently you can feel every little bump when ridding in the cockpit. Even in minimal chop. I cannot speak from experience just what has been passed onto me.

Not to sound stupid. Are the pro’s leasing there boat or aren’t they getting them from the manufacture’s for free? In the FLW if you make the final cut you can’t run anything other than a Ranger boat.

Not sure about farmers, but business owners fit the profile. The business owns the boat, pays the bills. Many ways to write off the expense.
