When a Sheep is not a Sheep

In the summer my wife and I like to boat P3 once in a while on a weekday after work. We always pack a small cooler with our main destination being the bar in Diamond Bluff for dinner. Great little place to beach your boat and the outdoor seating there borders on spectacular for the area given its height and view. As usual I like to do a little fishing. Last night I looked for bass and I found them. The smallies were on a tear. Lots of small and medium fish. Great for steady action. I got a couple of decent ones too but no pigs. The real surprise came from the sheephead. Nice ones were biting like mad last night. 2-4 pounders that hit viciously and fought hard. They were crushing my jig and more often than not inhaling it. I was out for some action and the sheep were the winners last night hands down.

I’ve been seeing some nice size sheepers coming in from P-3/4 over the last month or so.

You know they are good fighters when people start group text messaging photos of their sheepshead…. Right @ChrisTuckner ?
