Saturday night… I could see a huge bodied deer coming my way from across the field…
It was getting dark so I knew he had a ways to come with little time to get to me. Ended up getting dark, and I couldnt see a thing… So I snuck out and checked the camera the next morning..

bout had a heart attack when I looked. He came by the stand about an hour and half after legal time.

Excited to have a new shooter show up.
How old do you boys think he is? Look at the body, and the shape of the head. Guessing 5 1/2. Not alot of mass, but there is a LOT of inches there!

    Im calling him OPTIMUS PRIME

I would feel pretty confident in saying he is over 5.5 even, very mature deer!!

I agree, he’s 5.5 or older. Great mature buck, go get him!!!

Awesome buck, but once again proving the old adage that big bucks aren’t afraid of the dark. This drives me nuts as well, my friend has pics of bucks in an area of oak trees and without fail the big buck picks are from 2 hours after sunset to 2 hours before sunrise. It’s like there’s an alarm clock sitting in a tree out there so the bucks can keep to a schedule.

No pressure, but just to say that the hopes and dreams of IDO Whitetail Contest Team 5, well, they’re basically resting on your shoulders. So get out there and give him one from the team! Go team, rah, rah, etc.

Big mature bucks have no need to move during daylight hours during OCTOBER. Its not like they are roaming far and wide.. They bed very close to there food. And in this case.. bed in the food. I think he got pushed out of the corn field by the combine across the road earlier in the day. Took the whole field down. We will see where he hangs his hat now…

As far as the contest goes….I will be putting on enough miles this next month that if I don’t knock something good down, I should pick a new hobby. toast

Love those big symmetrical 8’s. That’s a wall hanger in anyone’s book.
