Ben Brettingen and I are loaded up and headed for Milwaukee. The plan is to be at the landing by 3:30 AM tomorrow. If we have internet access out on the lake we’ll share some updates from the water. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday night. Safe travels to all…

Within 5 miles of shore, you should have service. Hope you pull the lucky first timer horseshoe and land on fish right out of the gate.

We most certainly will try. Hopefully the fish do their part and go easy on us.
July 25, 2014 at 6:10 am #1441927We hit the lake out of McKinley at 4am. Beautiful start to the day. We headed straight east to 70′ and started there. We had one steelhead on 4 colors that took Ben for quite the ride before shaking loose, one drive by on 5 color lead and another on dips fly.

July 25, 2014 at 6:45 am #1441933James was on the board first with a steelie on 7 colors and a green spoon and before he could get it in, we got ripped on a 4 color with an orange/silver spoon. Ended up with a chunky little brown! Shaping up to be a fun day!

July 25, 2014 at 6:49 am #1441935What’s the air temp out there on the water this morning? Raining the Madison area with lots more on the way.
July 25, 2014 at 6:52 am #1441936Right now the air temp is 63 and the surface temp is 61.3 over 70 fow.
July 25, 2014 at 7:35 am #1441944IDO Slammin’ Brown GTG..5 colors 70 fow. As the wind picked up we started moving up into 60 fow and are starting to find water temps around 52 degrees vs 63 only a couple hours earlier. Over 10 degree water temp drop….

John SchultzInactivePortage, WIPosts: 3309July 25, 2014 at 8:02 am #1441950Nice brown. I will be launching out of south shore around 2:00 if the weather cooperates.
July 25, 2014 at 8:27 am #1441957Nice Browns. Stuck at work and can’t wait to hit the water tonight! Keep the pics coming!

July 25, 2014 at 8:35 am #1441960Awesome! I REALLY wish I could have made it out there with you guys. I sure hope you manage to hook into a few “boat anchors” where the drag just starts screaming!
July 25, 2014 at 8:41 am #1441961Now that’s what I’m talkin about! James smacked a king! Then we were greeted with a colossal CF with the dipsy rod, and man alive do those flashers know how to cause a mess. Now we are rolling 6 lead core strong. We’ll see how she goes! Same spoon as the brown.

July 25, 2014 at 9:22 am #1441967Awesome, thanks for getting out there and doing all the dirty work for the group though you’re making me feel like a sloth. I’m feeling like all I’ll be doing tomorrow is stealing fish others worked for… brownies in exchange for a dream vacation. Man am I getting a deal! I’ll be easy to identify in the dark tomorrow morning, I’ll be the guy wearing the perpetual smile.

July 25, 2014 at 9:24 am #1441969Thanks for the real time reports guys! Like Art said, you’re killing me as I am stuck on the office til early afternoon.
Glad you are on fish! Keep it up!

July 25, 2014 at 10:04 am #1441975No wind no fish…..we are headed for deeper waters!
Futurecast radar is showing a growing thunderstorm heading your way. If it doesn’t dissipate it’ll get to you between 1-2 this afternoon.
July 25, 2014 at 10:17 am #1441976Thanks for the heads up, wouldn’t want to get stuck! I guess not that deep of waters then!
July 25, 2014 at 10:26 am #1441978Go to the Flemish Cap! You can make it!
Check yer radar first tho.

July 25, 2014 at 11:24 am #1441983The T storm fell apart and isn’t looking like much more than a sprinkle anymore. What’s left of it should almost be on top of you by 2.
John SchultzInactivePortage, WIPosts: 3309nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348July 25, 2014 at 11:41 am #144198731 minutes and I’m off to Milwaukee.
Wish I could say the same but I’ll be there first thing in the morning.
