I’m sure I’ll learn along the way,but wondering what’s out there for if I knew then what I know now tips?

Camping should I be up in the air or lower it to the ground?

Is a Honda 2000 the way to go for a generator?

Manual says max 55mph? Is that really the speed ? Sounds like a long drive to red?

Air? Maybe I’m dumb but should I have a window cracked or is this thing vented somehow to get fresh air in?

    I’ll take 1st stab with my experiences…

    1) down on blocks if you can, otherwise if it has stabilizers, go that route.

2)always choose Honda if you can

    3) stick with the speed limit suggested…but yes, everything can tolerate more than what it’s rated for, that just how they do it..In my line of work, it’s usually tested at 1.5 x working rated.

    4) I ALWAYS crack a window if sleeping.

If you have hydraulics keep a set of Jumper cables handy and even a spare battery. Was out with a buddy (who isn’t known for taking care of his stuff) in his shack a few years ago and had to jump the battery to get the house back up.

…and I agree with only buying a Honda generator, unless Yamaha’s are available. devil

Buy a cheap hair dryer I’ve used to thaw out around my door and a door lock. Also use it when it’s really cold in my propane box to warm my tanks and regulator.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll pickup a hair dryer right away that’ll come in handy. Don’t have hydraulics or a big one. Got a 6.5×14.

Planning on getting two rattle reels. Debating on the lain cheaper ones or the glowing ones. There’s light switches so I would think glowing wouldn’t make a big difference, but haven’t really used em before. Any thoughts on rattle reels. Are there any that swivel so when not in use they are more flush with the wall versus sticking out?

Buy a carbon monoxide alarm if you’re sleeping in it. Test it prior to use. Maybe even buy two to have one on backup. Maybe I’m just paranoid but it’s a lot easier for me to fall asleep and sleep well when I’m not worried about the possibility of not waking up from said slumber.

I’m not a fan of rattle reels. I picked up some cheap old bait casters that have a nice loud clicker on them and then set them up with a rod holder. They’re very use to move out of the way when not in use. Plus you can reel them in on a rod versus handlining them in. I don’t like anything obscuring the open floor plan and feel of my house. There was actually four rattle reels set up when I got it I took down.

Honda 2200 over the 2000 for me, but I actually run a wen and its been flawless and half the price. I am a Honda guy all the way but the wen sits right there with it in my opinion
