-26 on the truck on the way in to work. Touched -30’s before so not even close to being “coldest ever”. Not sure how to factor for wind.

I had an even -30 in Rochester at 4 AM, but its warmed to -26 now. When does the warming part of global warming kick in?

I think when it gets this cold, the numbers don’t mean much anymore. It’s just really F-ing cold!

I’ve seen that picture of the Florida weather reports, wondering if they’re legit, and it appears that they probably are. I just read this on a Florida news site. Broward County is Ft. Lauderdale.

“Because the overnight low temperatures on Wednesday, including the wind chill, are expected to be in the mid to upper 40’s in the metro areas, Broward County has extended its cold weather emergency until 9 a.m. Thursday.”

It’s true. Usually when the low will be in the 30s though, it’s not like 40s for a low are uncommon here. The emergency is declared mostly for the homeless (not sure how they will hear about it). I think it is more so shelters can extend their services. That and to warn people to bring their fur covered pets inside.
