What’s your PB Pumpkinseed?

Who likes GIANT Pumpkinseeds? Last week I had the pleasure of pulling a true monster topside when out fishing for Northern Pike!

What is your personal best (PB) Pumpkinseed?

That’s a fatty for sure! Here’s my two pb’s. Not ice fishing though.

Ryan, not to burst your bubble but the top one is a green sunfish and bottom one looks to be a gill/seed hybrid

Craig is right Ryan but those are both nice sized fish! Those Green Sunfish are extremely egressive so can be very fun to catch!

9.5″ is my PB thru the ice. I’ve seen a 10″ in person and it was an amazing fish. Pumpkinseeds are the coolest looking fish in local waters, in my opinion.

If I ever top 10″ and it’s a nice colorful one, I’ll likely get a replica mount with that and a 10-plus bluegill.

Old timer Brown owns the Wisconsin state pumkinseed record. Mind you it was on ice for two days before it was officially weighted. 1.4# I believe without looking it up….

I would suppose my PB was over 8″s but it got tossed in the bucket with all the other 8″ bluegills we ate. Couldn’t tell the difference between that pumpkinseed and bluegill taste?

Is this a pumpkinseed BTW?

I believe that is a hybrid. hybrid with a bluegill or pumpkin seed, I do not know.

A true 10in + Seed is an awesome creature! They have some horsepower at that size and on light gear will pull drag! I love these colorful disk!

I was wondering who had it? I have easily put that back 3-5 times now with out thinking about the record lol 11+ is my PB and I know there are some 12s where I hunt them!!! Hopefully crush that record if I’m lucky!

My biggest pumpkinseed was a 9 1/2″ caught through the ice a few years back. Biggest gill is a 10 3/4′.

Any gill over ten is a monster! Congrats on both!

10” Pumpkinseed is my son’s best. I’ve put that boy on more big fish he will probably never beat. Lucky little bugger.

Thats exactly how it should be! lol He at least will spend the rest of his life trying to beat those!
