Shimano sienna. Cheap, reliable and gets the job done

Thanks again guys. The Ceymar is fantastic. So smooth. It improved the feel of the rod dramatically. So much for my old favorite reel!

Have had good luck with the piscifun icx 5 spinning reel. Has the quick button folding handle and can usually find them on sale for around $23

+1 for the ceymar. I have 4 of them and they are all super smooth and a good price.

I’ve got ceymar, pflueger, tica and siennas. My number 1 is the sienna followed closely by the ceymar…..pflueger being a distant 3rd. I see no reason to go with anything but siennas from now on seeing as they are also the cheapest.

I have the Piscifun Ice X and am not super happy with them as the line sometimes sticks coming off the spool. Sienna’s are for the money hands down the best. Go with those.

I have 6 Shimano Symetre’s 500 that I absolutely love, unfortunately they don’t make them anymore. Since they stopped making them I have experimented with a few other 500 size reels, I have a few Ceymar C-10’s that are pretty good for the money, a few older Sedona 500 that are pretty good, and I just picked up a couple Piscifun Carbon-X 500’s. I don’t have too much time with the Carbon-X’s yet but out of the box they feel pretty good, a little more time with them and I can give a better review.
