Well I finally put that Thanksgiving Turkey (and a couple rotisserie chicken) carcass in the freezer to use. Made a ton of bone broth, and turned about half of it into Chicken/Turkey wild rice and dumpling soup. One of my favorites and lunch should be even better today!
Made some chili with leftover shredded beef from a roast
then look awefully good fellas!!!!!! good time of year fer soups!!!
Time to fire up the grill again
with this crazy weather its starting to feel like grilling season again!
Just some store bought sausage taters and green beans from the garden.
Looks good Glenn. So does your wife often match her shirt and her dinner glass?

Sunfish are the tastiest freshwater fish. Wish those little buggers were easier to clean.

Which is why I never keep any. My favorite fish is perch.

Same. Tough to find jumbos anymore though.

I have a lake I can get them on fairly regularly, but havent been there this year. They are always big too. I hear Winnie has had a turn around as has mille lacs, but havent fished those lakes in years.
I remember when there was no bag limit on perch. Then it went to 100. Then to 50, now to 20. People found out how tasty they were and the massacre was on.

i grew up cleaning sunfish….there my favorite eating fish so i dont mind. started with hand scaling and every fish cleaned whole.
i got divorced with custody of 3 young kids, something needed to change so we filleted them. still skin on, thats the only way!! we’ve had the scaling pail for years, can scale 20-30 sunfish in 3 minutes…….love it!!!
i still like to clean a few sunfish whole for myself!!!!

Yep, back when the limits were like that I never actually went after them. I sure missed out.

I clean them that way too I leave the skin on, same way I do my crappies. I have thought about the scaler pail thingy just wasn’t sure they worked that well and now I rarely target or keep that many sunnies, and crappies give up there scales way easier.
those scaling pails are the cats meow!!!! when there first new ya gotta be careful though. they can tear the fish to shreds!!
Pork chops on the grill, smashed sweet potatoes and corn.
