Breakfast, over easy eggs, on top of hashbrowns, maple sausage, bacon, and toast. One of my favorite any time of the day

That is the breakfast of champions! I could eat just bacon, dipping eggs and toast every day if time and my cholesterol allowed lol. The sausage and hashbrowns are a nice addition!

The son and I voted bacon. The lady and her daughter voted for sausage so I said to hell with it, I’ll make both. And I’m glad I did.

Kept it classy tonight after baseball. Hamburger helper, chopped up Cajun seasoned cut up potatoes cooked Half way in the air fryer and then doused them down with Frank’s red hot and finished cooking

Same here. We don’t get to enjoy it for breakfast very often because I hit the road so early on work days and leave even earlier on fishing days. But we make it for dinner every couple weeks.

First steaks from the 1/2 cow we picked up last week. Did two ribeye and one strip steak. We have a ribeye and half a strip steak left to bring up north for breakfast tacos on the Blackstone. The taters were huge so we have one for tacos too.

Did you buy the 1/2 beef from Roskom Meats in Freedom?
What did the 1/2 cost, total, if you don’t mind?

I love the way they shrink wrapped them. Will be fresh in the freezer for a long time that way.

Roskom processed it for a farmer up the road from me. $2.50/lb to the farmer and a total of $453 for Roskom. They said with 1/2 beef the price is the same for vac seal vs. freezer paper. The farmers wife says they eat a bunch of cucumbers in the summer and that’s why it tastes so good. I don’t know about that and she said her husband isn’t convinced either. Nice people at Roskom and Wepner Farm. Happy to support locals. I could have easily spent another $200 at Roskom with the nice stuff they had but only had three huge coolers.

    Was the $2.50/lb hanging weight?
Guessing the 1/2 was about 400 lbs, give or take?

Yes. Hanging weight was #377. Not a small purchase but for the quality and the amount I have no regrets.

By my Stearns county math that is about $3.70/lbs, which is an awesome price! Can’t beat local beef!

Sort of. I don’t have the exact weight because I didn’t weigh everything, but I’m guessing I got about #250 back after trimming and boning out. That would be $5.58/lb. Ground was #113 so maybe less than #250. Still no regrets.

Oh yeah, I read right past “hanging weight”, my bad. Still a good deal, and always feel like I’m stealing when we have the best ribeyes I’ve ever made on a Tuesday for $5-6/lbs! rotflol

Can’t wait until smash burger night. Erik Swenson’s canned beef got my interest, too.
