    Kinda miss food like that!
Although I’m loving this diet of raw veggies, wild caught salmon/lobster tails/shrimp pan seared in olive oil.

Not a supper meal but I’ve been playing around with pickling various different Veggies. I like to support the local Farmers market here in my area and have been eating a fair amount of Kohlrabi. I normally just slice and eat them with some salt sprinkled on them. I had a few extra and decided to try and pickle some of them. I did a mix of Kohlrabi, Carrots, and Green and red bell peppers. They turned out really Yummy. On my 2nd batch. These are simply the refrigerator kind. No canning involved. Of course I’ve also done a ton of various refrigerator pickles as well.

Give them a shot if you are ever around there. I doubt you will dislike them. They are great.

Yes there is a new variety that glows rather Large and does not effect the taste at all. Back in the day you would not want one to grow much past the size of a Tennis ball or your are correct – They would be woody and bitter tasting. I have purchased some this year that are as large as a BIG grapefruit and they still taste just fine. I think the place I get mine at the Sauk Rapids farmers market is Novaks as well.

The cheese store in Bongards sells delicious horseradish pickles. They are sold out often though.
