Well today I pickled 2 quarts and 8 pints of beets, ( ran out of pint jars ) and ended up with 4 quarts of beet juice that will get drank straight out of the jar.
And, just for the ole carpslayer, er, uh, I mean wallyhnter1 I spatchbotched a yard bird, Yep, I messed up on the cut because I laid my right thumb wide open with the mandolin slicing the beets dang it!! and I dont handle scissors real well left handed.
And, I fixed up more mushrooms, I also used the sauce for basting the yard bird while it cooked on the pellet grill.
Shout out to my FW and my SIL Billie Jo for slicing the remaining beets for me.

Always wondered about you blue plates, you’ve now clearly removed the wonder.. Can’t drive (or fly) for chit.. into self mutilation.. not able to grasp the concept of a mechanical cutting tool.. enjoys destroying good food (the bird) along with a smoker.. ohh, this’ll be a real head scratcher for ya-what’s the only good thing coming from blue plate land?? 35W.

Almost too stuffed to post this but I will manage lol.
And, no shrooms were harmed in this meal, thats for tomorrow night when I do garlic beer brats.
Anyhoo,, chicken kabobs and sweet corn, both entrees drizzled with honey.
The sweet corn,, goodness sakes!!, sweet by nature, sweetened a second time with honey from Wis. and sprinkled with sea salt, enough so the sweetcorn didnt stick to your fingers and oh so good and non too salty.
Plate got the addition of cottage cheese of which I didnt take a pic dang it!!
Sorry the pic is blurry, the heat from the pellet grill fogged my phone camera and I didnt catch it in time.

this might be the best meal i prepare all year! when there is nothing to eat in the fridge, i can bet there is some bread and cottage cheese to make a gourmet dinner in our house! i am a cottage cheese expert so only 4% small curd for this guy! and yes there is a BIG difference in brands! in my neck of the woods Hyvee cottage cheese is the bomb.

Iowa Boy, don’t let these guys tell you not to eat cottage cheese. I know it is not for everyone, but I can grab a whole tub and eat it.

You better hope your wife doesn’t see this. You will be cooking your own meals if she does. Then again if she puts cottage cheese in her Lasagna, you may be better off cooking your own meals jester rotflol

I had a very good friend that was a Polish immigrant that went through the Holocaust. We used to have big cookouts. Any time someone said they didn’t like some kind of food. He would say “you’ve never been hungry son of a bitch”. He said when bug went across the floor. It sounded like a truck load of watermelons hit the floor when everyones head hit trying to get it. Talking to him over a few beers was better than history lesson you ever had.
