My first time making walleye and it turned out great! I baked it in the oven at 400 for about 20 min with a brushing of butter and seasonings. 😋

Good job! looks good enough to eat! Another easy baking recipe is to mix in some parmesan with some panko breadcrumbs, flour, egg, panko, bake, eat, repeat.

Finally got a decent number of tomatoes this morning. Making one of my favorite summer dishes tonight. Couldn’t be simpler. Boil your favorite pasta and drain, toss in chopped tomatoes, olive oil, chopped basil, crushed garlic and parmesan. Tomorrow will be the first BLT’s of the season. NO MIRACLE WHIP!

i see what you did there

homemade candied jalapeño cornbread w honey butter

    shock

May I have the recipe for that?

We were gifted the candied jalapeno’s, so you will need to track those down. But just chopped them up and added them to the regular cornbread recipe and mixed honey w/ soft butter.

nice! im gonna have to try that

With tomato’s coming hot and heavy. Sounds like lots of BLT’s going on. Last year we put a new twist on the old favorite. We also have lots of cucumbers. Pick them about 6″ long. Slice them thin, long way. Use them in place of lettuce. Adds flavor and moisture. But I can put 3 Cucs in a bowl with diced onion and a little Ranch and call it lunch.

Denny O’s home raised tomatoes from last years seeds.
Denny O’s butchered pork bellies and home cured / cold smoked for 3 days.

I wish there was taste-O-vision here, I knocked it out of the park on the last batch of bacon. I’ve been scouring the stores for the perfect uniform sizes of bellies and I have 3 or 4 now in the freezer. Need many more for us and those that I make it for.

I had Ball Parks dogs (don’t judge me), steamed buns, topped with diced onion, mustard, tomato and cucumber with the mandatory celery salt on top for lunch today. It’s as close to a Chicago style dog as I’d make at home. Not a fan of the neon green relish.

Making venison tacos for supper tonight out of this guy.

    Why not indeed because…bacon.

The wife stopped wanting to go out for birthday or anniversary dinners years ago. I think it’s every other month now that she tells me “I think I want this for my birthday dinner.” Glad I found someone that loves great food as much as I do but is OK with a hot dog, too.

    Been busy around here.

Picked a bounty from my daughters garden and made some tomato sauce.

Made some homemade buns from a japanese milk bun recipe, made some delicious burgers. Here’s the recipe: https://www.joshuaweissman.com/post/burger-buns
