Tonight’s menu features grilled chicken breast (on my George Forman grill – it’s so easy to use!), herbed rice, and peas. I bought some Yum Yum Sauce at Cub recently (that’s the sauce they serve at those hibachi restaurants) and it’s DELICIOUS! I ended up dumping the Yum Yum Sauce all over my chicken and the rice too! 😋

Crawfish boils are good , I just started making a few more traps for them. We do a few every year. Fantastic food

That looks awesome. Always wondered what it was like with crawfish. Do you have to clean them at all or what’s the process to cook them?

Here’s one of my old ones. I have 4 traps I made a couple years ago.

Cooking them I usually just wash them in fresh water. I use the Louisiana seafood boil mix usually and throw some lemons in there also.
To eat them you just twist and pull the tails off

You can stick them in a couple gallons of water with two cups of salt . The water will turn brown from them pucking up there stomach contents. That’s called purging them.give them one more rinse and boil five minutes and turn off heat and let them soak for fifteen minutes in the hot water.

Damn, I’ve revealed one of my odd quirks, haven’t I? whistling I’m not a huge fan of my food touching… and I’ve accepted that LOL. I mean, we can’t just have those peas rolling all over the plate and getting into the rice! The madness! Plus the sauce is a bit runny, so gotta keep that contained to a dipping cup. mrgreen

Haha! I noticed that as well. Our oldest daughter was like that as well, we got her a divided plate for Christmas when she was little.

What about ol foghorn himself? Those would be some mighty fine drumsticks for a lil chicken hawk.

Smoked my first brisket this weekend on the Weber kettle at the cabin. It turned out great, and the brisket was from the Roseberg Farm beef we bought this winter. 225-250 degrees for 10 hours on Kingsford charcoal, Maple and Cherry Woods.

Tonight I made a dish called Instant Pot Crack Chicken! Its pretty much shredded chicken breast, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and one of those Hidden Valley Ranch packets. It’s delicious and I actually skipped the hot sauce that the original recipe calls for because I used a Spicy Hidden Valley Ranch packet! It went great with a side of broccoli! 😋

You can find the original recipe here: https://amomsimpression.com/instant-pot-crack-chicken-recipe/

Blue Plate Special! I love it! rotflol
My mom keeping saying she’s going to buy me new plates. These blue ones’ve gotta be 15 years old, and they’re definitely showing their age. But they still work! 👍

I’ll just let her know to get another set of blue plates. 😁
