personally…….Franks is the only kraut i’d buy…… but i make my own….tastes just like it.

not sure i would go that route though……..i have no issue eating the kraut cold so never goes to waste!!!

No pics, but had sirloins with mushrooms and onions, brussel sprouts, and baked potatoes. Everything but the potatoes done on the Blackstone, that was pretty nice clean up!

Smoked a #3 meatloaf last night served with mashed potatoes from the garden. We both agreed it was the best meatloaf we’d ever had. I’ll try to remember to post a picture when we have leftovers tonight. I mixed about a cup of panko, two eggs, 1/2T of Better Than Bullion beef base, finely minced a medium onion and sweet red pepper. Dusted the outside with Plowboy’s Bovine Bold that always delivers a great bark. Took about 2.5hrs at 275-300 on my WSM with a chunk of mesquite and a few chunks of apple wood.

Loved smoked meatloaf! Annual neighborhood smoke-off coming up on Saturday and Meatloaf is the protein in-play this year. Should be really interesting and delicious. I will never cook Meatloaf in the oven again.

Thinking I’m doing a stuffed Jalepeno Popper Meatloaf.

I think keeping it simple was the ticket to perfection on this one. Also, that Plowboy’s rub does make a cool smoke ring and really tasty bark. I know the smoke ring isn’t actually indicative of good BBQ but when it looks great you can’t help but think it tastes better.

I haven’t made my homemade meatloaf for my special fella yet so that’s tonight’s supper along with roasted potatoes in the oven! It smells amazing and tastes just as good!

The shrimp boil looks and sounds awesome.
And meatloaf is always great. I’ve been fond of smoking them lately. Then once smoked I add my sauce on top and crank my grill way up to get a awesome crust

    i found Sharon’s plate!

YES!!! That is a perfect way to use those and I totally would, but I don’t want to lug around my own special plate to dinners and cook-outs! jester I was at a wedding over the weekend which had a buffet and I struggled to get the food aligned just right so it didn’t touch. Nothing like the garlic mashed potatoes getting smushed into your balsamic pear salad… chased

On Saturday I made a crockpot of venison chili and it turned out fantastic!! I finally got it to be a bit spicy by adding 3 serano peppers – with their seeds too – and also used a box of spicy beef stock. That was something new I hadn’t seen at Cub before. It’s been years since I’ve cooked with venison burger and I missed it!! It’s so lean and nice not to have to drain the burger once it’s cooked. waytogo

Short ribs in the crockpot over cheese tortellini in Cossetta’s Funghi sauce. So rich Kamala wants to tax it. jester With broccoli and garlic Parmesan toast.

Taking advantage of the late season warmth. Grilled chops were on last nights menu.
