February 21, 2018 at 8:55 am #1754031Chow mein is my arch nemesis. I think the secret is finding the right noodles, still searching.
February 21, 2018 at 9:10 am #1754036we use the basic La Chow i believe!!!!!! same name as the soy sauce!!!!!
February 21, 2018 at 9:54 am #1754049Crock pot Chow Mein? Recipe pls.
here it is’
i start with what would be roughly one of those cool whip containers of chicken cut up. now i usually boil up the chicken, make soup out of part of it, save about that much meat for chow mein. ive also used pheasant. you can use beef to, i just dont.
add 1 can mushrooms….undrained.
1 can baby corn………drained
1 can chicken rice soup.
1 can of the La Choy chow mein. it comes in 2 cans wrapped together. drain the juice from the vegtable can.
add salt pepper soy sauce to taste. serve over chow mein noodles and white rice. of course ya throw in crock pot for 4-5 hours.
i might add you also use the soy sauce also!!!!!!February 21, 2018 at 10:53 am #1754063That’s a different twist for me with the corn, might have to try that! I’m sure it adds some sweetness to the mix.
I grew up eating chow mein from China Garden in Richfield on 66th and Nicollet. Every single time we made the trek up to visit my grandparents, we stopped and brought it over. One of the biggest and best memories growing up, thanks for starting this thread! Now I just need to find a good recipe for fried pork wontons and I’ll be set.
February 21, 2018 at 1:15 pm #1754102kind of why i labeled it this way. continue to post whatever it is ya cooked for a meal……not just this 1 particular meal!!!!!
even BK can post his fried spam dinner here if he wishes!!!!!!!

Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559March 1, 2018 at 4:49 pm #1756331Ruebens tonight. Meat loaf last night and tomorrow night. Maybe some nice fresh grilled bratwurst on Sunday evening. Or venison ring bologna smothered in sauerkraut along side of sweet potato fries or chips.

I love how moist zucchini cake is. I do like a high walnut ratio though for crunch and flavor.
