I am waiting on delivery of a 2021 competitor 185cs . Want to install a garmin 93uhd at the bow and one at the steering wheel. the boat does come with the alumatrac rails. with out having the boat yet not sure how they will fit and if i’ll need gimbal mounts. I want to be ready when the boat gets to me and not scrambling for parts. Any suggestions?

Cisco or BalzOut are better then Ram mounts as far as quality and not moving while hitting big waves. They make a short and tall mounts. You will have to hold the graph in place and see how far back you can go with the base to determine what height you will need they run about $125ish. If you go to the Alumacraft owners face book page you can ask the same question and will get about 15 pictures form owners.

i just mounted that same unit on a 2016 Competitor 175 CS. Cisco mount did not fit under the windshield. Had to go with a RAM mount

edit : when i say i mounted it i mean the Boat Center in Ramsey did. they recommended the Cisco mount but called me when they were doing the install to report that the cisco mount didn’t fit and recommended i keep the same RAM mount already in place and use that

These boat manufactures need to get with 2021, no one uses 5″ graphs anymore on the dash, its like the old Sony 32″ TV was the top of the line now its 65″ and bigger. They need to make more room for us. Do we need to sing a petition or something?

I used a ram D size mount. The only down side is it didn’t come with mounting hardware for the ball mount to the boat. or hardware from the quick release bracket to the mounting ball for that. if that makes sense.
