It dug a hole thru 8″ of ice, left me a little present and now lives under my boathouse.

FWIW – The ice fishing conditions were perfect for pulling the sled out. A little snow on top of 8″ of clear ice. Amazing how that can change in 24 hours. 4″ of crusty snow on top of 2″ of slush. mad

My guess is a mink. We have had them in the house

From the size of the hole I would say mink or Ermine, but I wouldn’t rule out muskrat.

How the Heck do they get thru the ice? top down or bottom up?

Also, first time I’ve seen Turkeys walking on the lake.

EPG, don’t you have a big enough hole around the permanent dock with those de-icers for those critters?
