What to do with transom holes after removing transducer?

I’m going to sell my WX1850 and want to keep one of the humminbirds. Anyone have a good idea for filling or covering the screw holes in the transom after removing the transducer? I want it to look OK for selling but also want to do it right to protect the transom.

Fill them with silicone, then screw stainless steel screws back in.

Give the buyer the option of purchasing with the transducer. If they buy it, nothing to do. I’ve filled mine in with 3M 5200 when I changed locators and NEVER had an issue with leaks

Fill the holes with silicon and then put a transducer mounting board on. Get 2 boards and put one on your new boat, then you won’t have this issue again grin

I’d fill the holes with silicone and install a transducer plate. This will give the next owner a lot of options and a nice looking boat.

Silicone the holes in and let the buyer decide what they would like to do.

Depending on the color, Marine-tex can fill the holes just about perfectly. It ends up looking just like the fiberglass if you match the color, sand, polish and wax. If it’s got a polyflake finish you can’t match it, though, without a lot of work. The plate idea is a great one but the cheapest, easiest option is to put the screws back in with silicone sealant. I like marine goop even better. Don’t over-think it.

I’ve installed my transducer plates with adhesive so I’ve avoided using screws to mount the plate as well. Works great, nothing on Earth is going to pull that plate off with a good silicone adhesive.

I avoid any through-hull screws if at all possible.
