I dont mean to be gross but what do you guys do if you have to go #2 on a boat? It hasn’t come up much in my time but there have been a few occasions where I went out with a nice bait bucket and came back with one for the garbage. Do you bring a 5 gallon bucket or something? Seems like an easy solution but they do take up a lot of floor space.

I head to shore and take care of business. This might not work if you fish populated waters, but it works where I usually go. In the case of big water emergency’s (Lake Superior)… whatever it takes.

pool2foolInactiveSt. Paul, MNPosts: 1709September 21, 2018 at 10:20 pm #1798952Hahah. My rep preceded me. Honestly I’m a bucket guy as well. It serves many uses — I usually set the netted fish inside to stabilize while unhooking a fish. If I’m keeping eaters I’ll also bleed em right there in the bucket before tossing on ice. I’ve used one as a cooler in a pinch. My kid whizzed in it one tonight. But once you do the deed in there it’s tough to ever see it the same way.

Nothing more satisfying than netting a small fish for your buddy, looking him straight in the eye and saying “the $hit I just took in my pants is bigger than that fish”.
September 21, 2018 at 10:32 pm #1798955Well there is Luggle b lou? Used it many times ice fishing…particularly with participating daughters. Girls gave special needs for this business.
Wouldn’t recommend in a boat. Could be bad if it all tipped over in an unexpected wave.
Many years ago fishing a muskie tournament on the Minocqua chain in N Wisconsin after a night of dark beer and “Northwoods” chili, the call of nature was more than I could deny. With no facility available it was the nearest shore. I’m not wiping with leaves was my protest, lo and behold he pulls a roll of TP out of his box in the boat. He was an Army vet and explained…I’m always ready for these sort of things.

September 21, 2018 at 11:47 pm #1798958Shore and leaves it happens. I’ve had a plastic jar with a roll of tp in the boat for years. It comes in handy.
September 22, 2018 at 1:13 am #1798960I converted the live well into a bidet. Took a while to get the aim right from the freshwater intake. Those zebra muscles do a great job. No more waisting paper. I warn the inspectors not look in there but they don’t listen.
September 22, 2018 at 7:30 am #1798966Every other animal dumps in the woods, why not people? I was duck hunting once had nature called. The other passengers didn’t want to drive to shore after all that set up, so over the side of the boat I went. Thank God for that coffee can with the roll of TP. A bucket would have been preferable but we didn’t have one.
September 22, 2018 at 8:09 am #1798971have carried a 5 gal. bucket for 20 + years, keep the wife happy. just remember to put some water in it first lol

Good one – I’ll give that 4 out of 5 catfish wiskers!
September 22, 2018 at 11:18 am #1799007No different than ice fishing. A bucket and double layered kitchen garbage bags in case one leaks.

Gotta be tough to look anyone in the eye after that….. Somethings you can’t unsee, unhear, or unsmell……
September 22, 2018 at 4:50 pm #1799026Luckily it was still rather dark out and I told them to keep talking so as not to hear anything… it could have been awkward, but honestly I just felt relieved to conduct my business. I was with my husband’s family (nephew, cousin, FIL) and as a fun gift, they spray-painted a toilet seat in camo pattern and gave it to my for Christmas.
September 22, 2018 at 5:05 pm #1799028I’ve been blessed with an iron gut my whole life. Never had an emergency on the boat, while doing long runs, etc. I always a have rubber gloves and paper towels on the boat if I was in a “pinch” as they say.
DeletedPosts: 959September 22, 2018 at 9:11 pm #1799059Never for me yet but when the wife comes fishing , we take her to shore for the restroom. Sometimes a restaurant , sometimes a porta sHltter….
paulroeckerPosts: 24nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348September 22, 2018 at 10:03 pm #1799066Is that a bag of chips?
Don’t even know what to say except impressive for mom’s catching skills.
September 23, 2018 at 12:20 am #1799073Hon..honey, please hold still! You need to aim for the bag! The bag! The bag! Can we please stop hitting these waves! Any chance there’s a bigger bag on the boat? Give me that bucket! “No way, that’s my good bucket”. Oh my Lord…..
wildbeaverInactivePosts: 27September 23, 2018 at 5:16 am #1799075I really can’t believe this, lol, woods find 2 poplar tree close together lean in and let fly, oak and swamp maple scratch to much.
September 23, 2018 at 7:56 am #1799086Side note one would think dogs would evolve to not roll in human crap discovered in the woods. Day ruiner
September 23, 2018 at 11:16 am #1799112A timely subject. 2 years ago in Canada my buddy had to go. I pulled up on a sandy shore and everything was fine until I backed out and hit a rock on my glass boat, $2200 damage. This spring the same guy in the same area again, I gotta go. OK but not until I find a “safe” place to beach. He said he couldn’t wait and went off the side of my boat. About 30 seconds passed when there as a big splash and he went overboard in his action position. Managed to grab the rail then got around to the boarding ladder where he got better composed before climbing back in and discovering that he left a deposit on my gunnel, which didn’t thrill me but the proverbial….S— Happens. After getting everything cleaned up, and settled down, this year I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K6HN22/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Folds nice and stores great. Luckily didn’t have to use it but I will never be without it in Canada again.

I’ve had to sacrifice shirts and underwear due to a lack of tp at bad times. I’ve taught my son (7 yr old) to poop in the woods quite often while hunting or out on the lake. Just have to do what needs to be done.
brentbulletsPosts: 318September 23, 2018 at 8:24 pm #1799181Wife carries a Schwans ice cream bucket with a lid for toilet duties and a package of the moist clean up things. Bucket gets rinsed in the lake or river by whoever gets it dirty. Been doing it this way for years.

I don’t like spending money on kitchen bags so it’s two walmart bags for me. They have a recycle box near the door. Grab as many as a person likes.
Toss in the closest resorts dumpster.
