What the heck are these?

    We were up setting up cameras on the deer lease and found these in the pine woods. I have never seen these before. Fungi? Fern? Alien life form? Breakfast?

    Not 100%, but I think they’re ferns. I’m sure they’d make a good breakfast salad….

    Wow…I have never seen these before. Never in all my years in the woods, and specifically not on this lease, which I have been on for 6 years.

    That’s what they are. I’ve never come across them. Fun looking plants. Nice find.

    Saw someone on a Facebook group post pictures of one a few weeks back as well. It was their first time seeing them also. May be something about the weather this year that is making them pop.

    Ron F is correct they are Indian pipes, we use to find them fall mushroom hunting.
