What species of fish is this?

    They are listed as a species of special concern in Minnesota, and threatened in Wisconsin. The blue is said to be the rarest of all suckers.

    I’ve never caught one and only heard of a few being caught on the Mississippi but with a camera down, I’ve seen plenty (not enough to say they are thick). Much like the red horse that populate the dam area in P4, they aren’t caught very often.

    Funny you mention the redhorse, BK. Couple weekends ago, I actually caught a big red on P4. Not sure which one specifically as I am not knowledgeable about the different redhorse species. It bit. The jig was inhaled. I wish I would have taken a picture now but was alone and didn’t want to deal with the hassle. Easily over 10lbs.
