For those of you that wonder what pound test a 1/32 oz Northland jig is…

Well, if a 29 inch walleye weighs about 9.9 pounds – then this jig must have been rated at 10 pound test. It was mangled almost straight and back into a question mark… but no question here that it did it’s job (by a hair!)

    Its not a Matzuo….lol

I catch several big carp in the 20-25 pound range each year while jigging crappies on 1/32 heads cast on #6 and #8 Lil Nasty Eagle Claw hooks. This year its been catfish and huge sheephead though. Any hook isn’t any better than the line and reel in conjunction with the angler.

    29″….9.9 pounds? Nice catch bud!

I guessed at 9.9 lbs, but close. Will have to look at a length/weight conversion table. Wanted to get her back in the water after a pretty hard fight!
