Going to leech this weekend. I do not know where I will be accessing yet. Have an ice castle and was wondering where I should set up according to fishing habits. Normally this time of year would be the mid season doldrums, but with the late/warm start I do know know if I should try up on top of a flat in shallower (15ish) or try deeper structure such as sunken islands. What do you guys think?

I’m going to go out on a limb as say we’re in the twilight zone this season

Was up last weekend. Granted it was my first time to the lake, but I fished from 230 Friday on 3 shoreline structure spots and 2 reef spots later that night until 11, with Saturday hitting 5 more spots then settling on a secondary point where I got one eye that morning, stayed until 8. Got tired of drilling holes frankly, and seeing nothing come through. Lil perch here and there on the screen during the day. Caught one jumbo, one 17″ish eye.

Once nightfall came it was dead sea for us.

Rough weekend nhamm. Hopefully ours will be better. So far I’m thinking we will try pine point/ goose island area or around horseshoe bay. Just going to try all depths and see what comes up.

UV Perch buckshot spoon got my eye as well as jumbo with shiner head. Lil perch were going good on white glow with crappie minnow heads. Both baits had white glow backs.

Resort owner got a 27″ eye on a chub tipup about 530 Saturday evening in 10′, mine was on the lip of secondary dropoff 19′. Had tipups/deadstick with golden shiners most the time with no action. Good luck!

Good info. Thanks! So the big girls are still coming up shallow then. I’ve got some suckers, rainbows, and fatheads still from last weekend. I’ll probably start shallow and work my way out if needed.

We’re in the “less then 90 days until spring” part of the season!!
