I want to become more mobile but its hard when my auger is the eskimo Z71 and your back is killing you after you lug that around and pop a few holes. What kind of auger do you use James? I watch the show and your auger seems light.

It’s not the auger. James is just a physical specimen. The training with his personal trainer repping augers in the off season has clearly payed off.

I too have the Eskimo Z71 with a 10 inch blade…and it’s heavy, but more than it’s weight is the torque feedback from turning and cutting a 10 inch hole. I myself am looking at buying a k-drill auger attachment , I all ready have the Milwaukee drill and 3 4ah batteries. Only 10 lbs and punches a 6″ hole at about 10 seconds per 14″ of ice. Which is great for recon and pulling in the sled.

I see he has had the Strikemaster Lithium mostly on the shows, todays though was a gas powered strikemaster. But yeah, he is like 6’6″ or something so its going to look lighter in James hands than an average height human.

In this last show I used a Lazer Mag. No question, it is lighter than most.

yeah James probably needs an extension on his auger all season long just to reach the bottom
