Saw this along the road near Bagley wi. Hopped kinda like a mule deer, black and small. Antlers swept back. Contacted dnr.

certainly doesn’t look like a whitetail to me but I know obviously it’s a deer of some sort. Not sure how someone could be so lonely or bored to make a dumb comment like that. Educated guess? Melanistic European Roe deer. Probably a deer farm/petting zoo escapee. Any of those in the area?

I think he meant Sika Deer, like the ones around Chesapeake Bay. They can look just like that too in their dark brown winter coat

PP, for a minute there I thought you were one of my X’s.
Then you apologized and I instantly knew that couldn’t be the case.

It could be an elk in that area but the color isn’t quite right. I am about 40 miles north and elk have been spotted here

I’m surprised that no one caught it. Zoom in close. It’s obviously a snook.
