Here’s a good video with BP talking about color selections for his Megabass jerkbaits.

    <div class=”ido-oembed-wrap”><iframe loading=”lazy” title=”Palaniuk’s Jerkbait Color System Revealed” width=”850″ height=”478″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/mje5G7Bi99Y?feature=oembed&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” referrerpolicy=”strict-origin-when-cross-origin” allowfullscreen=””></iframe></div>

    Thank you.
I ordered 4 colors. One is similar to the KVD bone. Another is Tennessee shad which Pat Schlapper recommends and the other 2 colors are from the video you posted with Brandon.

What is your go to color for the Vision 110 on a MN lake?

I like perch on smallmouth lakes and bluegill on largemouth waters. Those two colors account for the majority of my catch using MB jerk baits.

It’s a big rabbit hole if you start looking lol. Tons of wild variations in color pattern. Some go for much more than the MSRP because they are of “limited” release.

after all this talk I may have to purchase a Vision 110 or 2 to try next fall. Hope they don’t end up being better than the good old husky jerk. If so, my far fishing will get rather expensive.

I’m gonna have to get one of those vision 110s just to see what all the hypes about. They don’t seem all that innovative, not like those soft plastic turds, or nothing but ribs ripple baits that were all the rage for bass last year.

I got mine from a laundry basket in a shady underground garage, but the closest thing I could find on Amazon was a THKFISH Soft Swimbait.

For small mouth I like the X Rap and my go to colors are Hot Steel, Hot Head and Hot pink. I do have perch and clown as well.

This year I want to put out an honest effort to throw a jerk bait more for large mouth.

I should also throw it more often as well. I fish it a ton in the late fall but almost never the rest of the season.

From what I’ve heard from guys the Vision 110, just comes out of the box dialed in terms of buoyancy and it’s erratic action. Also the way it sits in the water while paused is different than many of the other jerks.

Vision 110 ito wakasagi is a color i recently ordered. More so for walleye in the shallows but I bet it’ll be killer for bass.

I’m envisioning my self casting 3 to 6 ft water on vermillion with that color and crushing walleye early season.

That Ito color is what Taku Ito won a couple of Elite Series events with. It’s definitely one you want to have in your box. Forgot about that one.

    It’s true.

I used to think 25 bucks on one lure that a pike could steal with one swipe was suicide. But one Xmas about 8 years ago my wife bought me one. When I started using it, the difference was very noticeable. The quality and natural neutral buoyancy out of the box is what separates them.

A jerkbait bite if hard to beat too. Snap snap, pause…fish on.

Good to know. I don’t follow pro bass fishing, but I looked at that color and thought dang, that’ll be solid in up north stained water.

It can work for largemouth in specific situations too, but I personally feel that it’s the most effective in colder water (spring and fall) when targeting smallmouth in clear water. That’s when it’s really been the most productive for this guy.

And as Bearcat has stated, it works for other species too.

I had a day the kid and I found the largies schooled up on chisago. He threw a perch colored shadow rap, and i threw a gold colored one. We caught so many fish at one point we were just laughing because it was every or every other cast. Jerk jerk smash. I love a good jerk baits bite.

The first thing I throw every spring is a jerbait. You can work it slow enough to be really good in cold weather and then just working it faster as the temps warm up. Prespawn bass that are roaming the first weedline, waiting to move up to the spawning grounds absolutely crush it.

A jerkbait is my go-to for walleye. I’ve caught more walleyes on stickbaits than anything else.
