Just got a new lund this year with a murc 150 out board.
I know with my old inboard i had ,there is a lot of water draining to do .
But what about these outboards .
Weather drops to – 40 C most winters

Mercury has some pretty good instructional videos on Youtube. It’s pretty straight forward.

Outboards are self-draining. Less to worry about than an inboard.

I would certainly change the lower unit grease before winter, other than that tip it all the way down to drain any water. Run seafoam thru the gas, maybe fog the cylinders. I usually change the oil in my 4 stroke in the fall also. Empty the water separator on the fuel line if you have one. Nothing to do with the motor, but I run rv antifreeze thru the livewell system.

If you have your owners manual the instructions are on page 71 and 72. Basically you want to change engine oil. Then add proper amount of fuel stabilizer to your fuel, according to Merc use “Quickstor”. After doing this run the engine for a while so the treated fuel can make it through the entire fuel system. Next pull spark plugs and spray in “Storage Seal Rust Inhibitor”. Change lower unit oil. Lastly if possible store the engine vertically so water can’t collect inside.

You’ll hear a lot of different viewpoints on how or what is needed to winterize engines, but this is direct from the Merc owners manual.
