This is a common term, but the definition seems fuzzy. If you’ve got any insight into it, the info would be much appreciated.

However, in my opinion, another criteria is whether they are active in the fishing community and respectable, contributing to the next generation. A person’s character is as important as their knowledge and experience.
June 27, 2024 at 8:37 am #2278747Just because someone pays you to do something, doesn’t quite mean you’re a professional. I think some experience is needed in order to achieve professional level. Amateurs get paid all the time, so it’s more than just about the money.

Most of those guys are the worst. Nothing worse then a brand pusher.
June 27, 2024 at 9:18 am #2278769Yep the term “pro” is very generic and has multiple meanings. Being a “pro” can mean one who is very skilled at what he/she does.
I’m a pro at losing jigs and I don’t get paid to do it.

It just does.
