What in the world is happening with this clear coat?

I have outdoor countertops under my covered deck. Part of them are uncovered. I put in a couple coats of clear coat on top of the stone after I caulked and cleaned it. Well it rained a couple days and it is pooling in this corner. Two questions: 1) any idea what this whitish film is and how to get rid of and/or prevent it in the future (reminds me of stain on top of too wet wood, but it has been applied for over a couple weeks)? 2) Is there a different product or more of the same I should be using for better weather resistance?

Define clear coat. Did you use sealer product intended for the stone? Is it a natural stone or? Looks like some wasn’t cured, does it wipe off?

I have included pictures of the exact product I used and also of what the non-rained on counters look like. This is natural unfinished stone beneath the clear coat

The back of the bottle says for interior use in dry areas only. Maybe contact the manufacturer to see what you can cover it with to make it waterproof.

Yeah, that’s an interior product. Might have to remove with a stripper and mineral spirits and try again with the right product.

Definitely need to strip it. When redoing it, make sure to wait the recommended time to recoat. If doing 3 coats wait even longer. Trust me… top coat will look white in spots like yours kinda does.

Edd. I hate to say it…. that pooling will be an issue also. Down the road for sure I do not want to add to your issues but if it happened once with the pooling water it will again. You will need an outdoor product that is good. I don’t deal with stone but do with wood. You will need to address that pooling. Either block the water by expanding the exterior, re grade the surface or put a drain to allow it to go away. I hope it’s not bad but would look at that issue as well. It does look pretty awesome!! I like the idea but wanted to make sure you are aware it is a concern.

Yep, I put a slant on the longer side and looks like I didn’t do the same on this shorter side, since it pools in the corner ill probably run a small drain line to get rid of most of the water. Pain in the butt, however, learning lessons along the way
