What HB unit is everyone using with 360?

I think I’m going to pull the trigger on a mega 360. I don’t need or can afford a Solix. Thinking of a 9in screen. I’m open to suggestions. Do people like 360? From what I hear the 360 and live scope (or whatever forward sonar is called) are different animals. I fish the River a lot N of Brainerd. Seems like it would be good for finding downed logs and rock piles. Thanks.

Mega 360 excels in this scenario.

I use the 9″ Helix on the ice and in my jet boat when using the 360 and think that screen size is a great compromise between cost and having enough screen to see what you need to see clearly.

James, I think it will work with tubemaster, Wade Kuehl, in Ne SoDak,too. He gets the hot hand once in awhile. Thanks for advice.

I use a Helix 12 for my 360 and MegaLive on the boat.

I am running a Helix 12 for 360 and a Helix 15 for Mega Live.

For my Mega 360 if I could afford the Helix 15 it would be on my boat but I use the Helix 12 for me and being older I would not go with any thing less then a 12 inch screen. Sitting in front of it at the console and sitting on the bow and the difference in distances is huge when it comes to actually reading a Mega 360.

X2 on the Helix 15 for my Mega 360 which is really nice but definitely not necessary. I think you would be fine with a Helix 9 or 10 depending on how much you wanted to spend.

Hard to find units in stock. Frustrating since the ice should be off in a couple weeks.

I run mine on a helix 12. I also only use the forward half of the circle to get some zoom out of it.

I originally bought mine for seeing structure while smallmouth fishing.
After last year I discovered it works well at seeing walleyes while casting on flats.

I run both 360 Imaging (Helix 10) and Livescope (1042xsv) on 10 inch units in the bow… another Helix 10 at the console. All work great in terms of screen size, seeing structure, fish, etc. I’m sure 12 inchers would be nice, but I really don’t think I need them.

Good to know. I just bought a 12 for the sole purpose of 360 on the boat. Planning on buying another, either 8, 9 or 10, for GPS on the boat and 360 on the ice. I go back and forth whether the gain in screen size is worth the shortened battery life and extra size of lugging around on the ice.

Mentioned above, but when you need to zoom in on 360 you can do half screen and with Mega its pretty good visual. On a 10 inch screen I think I can see pretty much anything I need to… and yeah a 10 is cheaper, lighter, less drain on the battery than a 12.

I ordered a Helix 10 MDI CHO. Found out it was on back order. I talked to athe rigging guy around here. Said he could get me a good deal on a Solix 10in. Hopefully, it’s a good deal. Thanks, Sam
