What happened to the “Ice Auger Machine”?

I’ve seen the videos and reports about the Ice Auger Machine that uses a Jiffy auger motor to power itself around the ice.
The last one I saw was the model 1900 about 3 years ago. Great idea. Did they go belly up?

I saw their website but it looks like there’s nothing newer than the model 1900 and none of those for sale.
    Thanks

I’ve seen several “hardly used” ones for sale on the normal channels, perhaps the increase in electric auger use killed the idea…or they aren’t as usable in real world conditions like they were made out to…

I guessed the electric auger might have something to do with it. I wonder if you could use an electric auger to power on of those machines.
    I’d like to find one.

I’m sure you could use one, it would likely just eat the battery quickly…

Looks like anything more than a couple inches of snow and you would be SOL. Neat idea for your kids to dink around in the driveway with, probably not capable of dragging a couple hundred lbs of man and gear out to a fishing spot in any typical midwestern winter.
I wouldn’t give 50 bucks at an auction for one.

I would assume the auger would have to rotate the same direction as a Jiffy or have reverse right?

I suppose you could gear the thing either way depending on direction. Don’t all auger go clockwise anyway?
