Looks like Custom Jigs & Spins’ YouTube channel now has full IDO episodes now. Not sure if they’re all there, though, and they’re not categorized by season under playlists like I believe they were on the official In-Depth channel.

Maybe they bought the video library?

Not sure what happened, although in-depth is no longer a brand after all so makes sense to get rid of the channel entirely I guess?

Just like how you can still find old episodes of shows that no longer exist on random other YouTube channels.

Anyone from the forums still talk to James or the old crew?

How much longer will we have the forum?
If it goes away I’ll end up having to find another hobby like reading or maybe even fishing crazy

Don’t forget I did start a Facebook Group for IDO Members just in case the forum isn’t available some day:
    http://www.facebook.com/groups/idomembersgroup

Thank you for the link Sharon. Great idea in the event the IDO forum pages are pulled.

The thing that stinks about Facebook groups is not being able to have categories. Once you talk about something it starts to get buried. 2 days later the same question and 3 days later same question again. It get tiring to see the same stuff over and over again. Another is the same question in all 3 groups that you follow (Garmin) because they think they will get an answer that much quicker or a better answer. Forum have there place but they are a dying breed.

Getting rid of the youtube channel and videos is odd. they’d still be getting small amounts of ad share revenue from youtube from new views.

Semi-related; I just noticed that the IDO forum homepage no longer has any ad banners. When I just opened it something seemed…different. More plain.

Am I just severely lacking observational skills and it’s been this way for a while or did it change very recently?

So, what gives? Taken down and put back up.. by whom? Does anyone here still keep in contact with James or old crew/staff members?

Would be kinda cool to hear some kind of update on their status and/or recent endeavors.

I was never that close or connected with any of them but thought a few here were.

IDO is dying a slow death. Been pretty obvious for a while now.

Would be cool to hear what everyone has been up to but at the same time, after years of being “public figures” I bet most of those guys are enjoying a different speed. At least I know I would.

With Holst specifically— it sure seems like he is a full-time Norsk Lithium honcho at this point.

Remember when the lindners sold in fisherman? The day after the non compete was over they started back with the exact same biz, different name.

I hope all the old timers from this site are doing good. I’m sure James is having fun with his new job, and likes the change of pace. I wonder if Dean is still working at the boat center, would think he’d be retired by now.

I saw Dean at Home Depot a while back. He’s still working as far as I know. I find it odd but understandable that James doesn’t just check in once in a while. I think BK has become a lurker but posts every few months. I don’t know what Pats up to these days. I think PJ is guiding on Erie or Green Bay isn’t he?

It’s a new world out there these days.

All good things must someday come to a end. And so will this site. When, no one knows. I keep expecting one day to go to log in and Poof – Its gone like a fart in the wind.

Looks like James last logged in 4 months ago.

Webforums are a dying breed. Facebook can be good but the problem with it is that it does not really store knowledge like a web forum does. So you get the same questions day after day after day.

Even if the TV show were to come back the days of this and pretty much most forums are numbered. Kept afloat by the same dozen or so people.

Number of the guys are still active on social media, some more active in the industry than others.
Ben Brettigen seems to be hunting birds full time
Joel Nelson got hired on by Onx this past yr.
Jacob Hals (spelling?) the camera man, is at Norsk with James.
Dean and Calvin – boat center.
PJ is a big time guide now
