If I recall wasn’t Portland & Seattle the hot spots for police reform and limiting what what police can and can’t do? Now Target says crime is the primary cause for closing 9 stores nationwide.

These won’t be the last stores that close either. When you have gangs of thugs like those who just hit stores in Philly last night with no fear it’s truly become a sad society.

Anybody else remember the old Charles Bronson vigilante movies? The time is near.

If there is any question….I’m a staunch supporter of the Thin Blue Line.

Repercussions happening close to home, too.

Shouldn’t happen to anyone, but as the saying goes – watch what you wish for…

Liberals in Minnesota went from ‘dismantle the police department’ to ‘we need more police, crime is out of control’ in a quick hurry. Who could have seen that one coming?

I’m on board with this. We all make our own beds here.

Well, the camera’s were of no help when they found coke in the White House. But I understand your take.

Sometimes the younger cops (who generally work overnights) pull you over for something to do. I had that happen to me once time on Hwy 10 around 4 am. Guy was hiding on the concrete wall of a overpass. Pulled me over and asked me why I thought he pulled me over. I knew he had nothing and wanted me to admit I was speeding. I told him I didn’t know since all my lights works, I wasn’t speeding, wasn’t swerving and hadn’t had a drink in 4 months. He ran my license wasted my time and then let me go. It was a slow night for him.

My guy was as green as grass and was barely old enough to shave. I think he was told to pull people over for practice. grin

At that time, it’s likely just an excuse to see if you’re under the influence.

I’m surprised he gave you a ticket. Hopefully he really made it point not to do it again!

First ticket I’ve gotten in years. Pretty lame. He told me he knocked it way down for me, so I asked him if he noted that if I were going any slower I would have been stopped !!! That didn’t make him any nicer

Yeah, that is pretty lame. I got a ticket from the game warden a few years ago because I didnt have a pheasants stamp. What I later realized happened was that since I ordered it online, when I selected the WIA authorization it removed the pheasant stamp and I never realized it. My fault yes, but I told the guy I have had a pheasant stamp every year since high school and many years I never even hunted pheasants. He said “yeah, I could see that”. Still gave me a ticket.

That doesn’t make any sense. The WIA has nothing to do with whether you had a stamp. The WIA thing is an additional fee if you want to hunt private land that is enrolled in that program.

If you paid for the stamp, you should have it. You don’t need the actual physical stamp anymore. Whether or not you have it is listed right on the small game license.

You didnt understand what I said. I selected the box for pheasant stamp, then selected the WIA box. What I didnt realize happened was that the box for pheasant stamp somehow became unchecked. How do I know this after the fact? Because my son went through the same thing when I was helping him, but I actually noticed it happening to him and we were able to fix it. Trust me it happened. This was 2 or 3 years ago so I am sure its working now, but I just go in and get my licenses from now on.

It isn’t the Washington police that are this issue. It is the District Attorneys that drop charges& let people out with $0 bail if they are a certain way politically.

Target would’ve closed their downtown store and probably their Lake Street store a long time ago if they weren’t headquartered here. But it would be terrible PR for them to do it.

What’s sad about all of this is that it will push everyone to just make even more online purchases than they already do. Or move to the old Service Merchandise model. Remember that? The store was a showroom and you’d put your order in and the item would come down a conveyer belt.

I would be fine with that. Actually kinda surprised the concept never really caught on.

I hate when this happens to anyone. But if it is going to happen to anyone I prefer its one of them. I truly don’t know why anyone would want to be a police officer in Minneapolis. Just glad that there are some who still do.
