What foods do you eat more of than the average person?

Apples. I work 4 day weeks and bring 4 every day in my lunch box. So 16 a week is pretty normal.

egg whites and turkey sausage everyday for breakfast. high protein, low fat. Couple hard boiled eggs in the afternoon to hold me over between lunch and dinner.

I also am very conscious of my salt intake. Once you start limiting your salt intake to safer levels, you’d be surprised how salty everything tastes. I even make my own taco seasoning so it can be salt free. The store bought taco seasoning tastes like saltly chili powder.

Salty snacks are a b**** to kick. I could go months without traditional sweets like doughnuts, cake, bars, etc. Going without some jerky, pretzels, popcorn though is rough.

Swine. I eat more pig than anything else, chops, steaks, bacon, sausage and hams. I think it would be harder for me to give up pork than beef and I love a good ribeye or burger. Maybe it’s not more than average, but it’s a lot.

Fishthumper egg prices are absurd and most of the store bought eggs taste like nothing after eating farm raised ones. My daughters sell ours at $4 a dozen and as soon as I send a group message out to family/friends we’ve got people lined up.

Our break even cost is about $2 per dozen to cover feed.

This is funny because we had 4-5 chickens for a couple years when the kids were younger and nobody in our family could really taste the difference. We always had more eggs than we could eat so we’d give them away to neighbors and they always raved about how much better they were than store-bought. I always just kinda scratched my head at that. I think maybe the fresh taste is quickly obscured once you clean your first chicken coop or deal with bumblefoot or find that the dog’s rolled in a pile of chicken crap. Even at today’s prices I could never go back to the backyard chicken thing.

Cheese buldak with rice cakes which is a Korean cheesy chicken dish. I buy 4 pounds of chicken breast at a time and marinade it in the chili paste concoction. It’s a super easy meal to put together in no time at all. As soon as it’s out, I’m making another batch. I’d say it’s dinner 2-3 times per week.

    Pomegranates

Just watched a podcast about Mitochondria, which Pomegranates are good for. Problem is if you consume enough to make a traceable difference, you’ll have diabetes from all the sugar. Then the majority of people I read on one of the UW reports said side effects was irritable bowels. Just can’t win with eating healthy

What you said! Taco seasoning, fajita seasoning, pizza sauce (with Cento crushed tomatoes) and more) all taste better without all of the salt. We live a block from a Broadway Pizza, grew up loving it but can’t eat it anymore. Has to be homemade with fresh mozzarella or it’s too salty.

Kind of surprised no mention of Sauerkraut yet. Eat it regularly.

Like horseradish and avocado a lot too.

Apples. I have a huge affinity for Honey Crisp apples. I eat at least one every weekday, and sometimes on the weekends too. They satisfy both my sweet and crunchy cravings.

When there are good garden tomatoes available, I eat caprese every night. Somewhere in Italy there’s a buffalo saying, “I’m making milk as fast as I can.”. I have a row of the world’s most harassed basil plants.

At Christmas I’m a total fiend for Včelí úly, a Bohemian cookie that looks like a little beehive.

We get Eggs from our Nieces Organic Farm… the yolk is orange.. store bought they are yellow and have way less taste. My wife only eats the yolk and will not even consider a store bought one anymore.

You gotta a good spot? I’m always looking to broaden my Sushi experience. Love me some good Unagi. waytogo

Bagu Sushi on 48th and Chicago. The #9 roll is my favorite and their sake nigiri is great. They also have good ramen.

    Milk
    21/2 to 3 gallons/week

Wow – That’s a lot of milk. I’m on the opposite end on Milk. I can count on one hand the # of glasses of milk I’ve drank in the last year on one hand and have fingers remaining. Have some every once in awhile on cereal. but other than that and cooking, almost 0

More than the average person? Probably hamburger. We eat that at least 3 times a week in different meals.

If another avocado never grew again I would be OK with that. And all you raw fish eating nuts, you can have that s^*t too. Prime rib, rib eyes, smoked brisket, roast beef, etc is where I hang my hat.
