I know what most of their titles mean. CI is internal gps. SI is side and DI is down imaging. HD is about the screen. Dammed if I can figure out cxi

Answered my own question and my have additional insight into Cabela’s low pricing on Onix units.

CI is the Unites States. CXI is outside the states and missing the live mapping.

I noticed in the Cabela’s description that Autochart Live was missing from the description. Did a little more digging and went to Bird’s Australia site. Compatible with Autochart maps but does not have AutoChart Live.

These units are back on Cabela’s at deep discounts, just a question of how important the live mapping is to you.

Well personally that would be a huge hit for me even though I don’t have one yet. I fish a crap load of small lakes and rivers that don’t have any mapping. Its nice to build your own map to find the drops and points. Just nice to visualize what you are fishing vs having a point on a map.

Update and I’m out some more money doah

Called Bird as I was also curious about getting software updates for an International model. At first the rep said all Onix units have AutoChart Live. I repeated that their Australian site says they don’t so she put me on hold. Theoretically these international units to have the “Live” and the only difference is the ability to select different languages. Supposedly their Aussie website is not correct.

So, I put my order in for an Onix 8cxi si combo through Cabela’s. I’ll try to report back in a couple weeks if the features are there or not.

2013 Alumacraft Dominator 175. It’s an out of state, so I don’t have possession for a while. Will post pics at some point. Headed to Rainy tonight and using my buddy’s boat.
