Simple. The vikings cant kick and got a couple of quetionalble calls on plays that had interceptions and the packers couldnt put them away like normal.

That’s hilarious! Yup blame the Refs.
Couldn’t be the great play calls and clock management by McCarthy could it?kabefisherman11Posts: 201September 16, 2018 at 4:18 pm #1797841<div class=”d4p-bbt-quote-title”>kabefisherman11 wrote:</div>

Couldn’t be the great play calls and clock management by McCarthy could it?Not blaming the refs just simply stating the packers couldnt put them away. When they should of. And also minnesota cant kick.

Couldn’t be the great play calls and clock management by McCarthy could it?Mac was terrible and it still should’ve been good enough to beat MN today. That call on Matthews was a joke. The game was over until one guy decided he knew better than every one else in the stadium.
the vikes were handed this one on a platter and spilled it on the floor.

I’ll bet that you didn’t see the exact same call on Kendrick’s earlier in the game…it was the same thing, just different teams at different times. By the way I don’t agree with that rule either, how else are they going to tackle

September 16, 2018 at 4:46 pm #1797845Simply, Vikings left 9 points off the board, Packers left 3 off and were handed 3 before the half on the no call for Rogers calling timeout with none left. The roughing call is known as “the aarom rogers rule” ny the nfl players… oh and Treadwell has to go too. This tie will haunt one of these teams later.

I think both teams had about the same amount of times of bad play and even bad calls with a non call against the vikings leading to a first down for the pack. Though the non call would not have been an issue if Traye Wayens was not afraid to hit and new how tackle.
Both teams deserve a tie.pool2foolInactiveSt. Paul, MNPosts: 1709September 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm #1797848“Mac was terrible and it still should’ve been good enough to beat MN today. Yeah I watched the game. Not the same hit as Matthews doesn’t even land or put any weight on the qb. Last week Matthews was an idiot and the refs made th right call. This week was a joke.
Aaron Rodgers rule, whatever. There is no rule in the book that says Matthews should be flagged there.

Think You’re reaching on the TO thing a little?
And the points “left” mean nothing to me. By that logic GB left at least 12 by settling for field goals repeatedly. You gotta earn those points and neither team did.

Football was always lukewarm to me, would watch it here and there. The game and the amount of calls nowadays doesn’t even make it enjoyable. To cheer or not to cheer is the question I ask myself after every big play bc it’s just revoked half the time. You guys enjoy it, have nothing against safety or the rules but it’s to broken up for this guy now.
September 16, 2018 at 5:45 pm #1797852I’m not a Vikings or Packers fan having grown up in Chicago but I think they should start requiring QB’s to wear skirts. That call on Matthews was really weak.
September 16, 2018 at 5:53 pm #1797853This thread is an instant classic. And it’s only getting started!
September 16, 2018 at 6:56 pm #1797854It’s going to be a long season for the Pack when they can’t beat the Queenies with an injured quarterback.
September 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm #1797855very exciting game. obviously a disappointing finish. I expect to see Dan Bailey getting off a plane in Minneapolis tomorrow. These calls on hits are a joke. getting hard to watch

Looking for a little help here. Does anyone know the outcome or score of the packer – Viking game? I don’t have internet and our cable went out yesterday. Any help please? Thanks.
September 16, 2018 at 8:22 pm #1797862To the original poster…
What you just watched were two teams that won’t make the Super Bowl again this season
September 16, 2018 at 9:14 pm #1797864Rogers playing his “injury” up much ? At times, no limp, then he remembers he is hurt and it starts in, he must have seen Seidel on the weather channel

And like I’ve always said. The only real sport left is All Star Wrestling.
Does anyone really believe that this is real? Do you think a tie was not planned and in the cards too make the season at the end another factor to keep some fan base?
This is way to big and they are using tax payers money to get really rich. Just think about that.
September 16, 2018 at 9:33 pm #1797868Absolutely painful to watch two teams playing so badly that the only thing that stunk as bad as the play, was the officiating.
The Vikings D was still awful in the secondary where it seems like there is always an uncovered man. Rogers had no problem taking advantage in the first half. But then again, I think the QB for the Little Sisters of the poor could have victimized the Vikes on anything other than 3rd and 21.
And then there was the Vikes offense. Treadwell? I think more like Treadworthless. And then there’s the Vikings kicking game, which seems to be sputtering just a tad bit…
The Pakckers line, both D and O was totally shot at half and it showed. The bad call on Matthews late in the game was just another bad call in the middle of about a dozen bad no-calls on the Pack for offensive holding trying to keep the Vikes off of Rogers. Terrible officiating that hurt both teams, can’t see either team had the better of the calls/no-calls.
Terrible game. Both teams have a hot mess to work out in practice after the egg they both layed at Lambo.

[/quote]Actually there is a rule on why Mathews was flagged and the ref explained his reasoning behind it after the game, not that I’m a fan of it by any means. Both roughing the passer calls were crap in my book but that is the way the NFL is going. It is hard to watch at times.

Well lets see here. The packers had a touchdown taken from them on a terrible holding call. Seriously that call is not made 9/10 times. The “Rodgers Rule” was not actually what was called on that horrendous penalty that took the win from the Packers. It is the same QB protections that have been in the league for at least 5 years now. Go look at the Ref’s explanation for the call after the game. Has nothing to do with the “Rodgers rule” and his description of why he called the penalty does not match what actually happened on the field. Just a terrible blown call that had a massive impact on the outcome of the game.
The refs overall were trash this game. Just from memory here are the crap calls I can remember
RTP against the vikings
Allison knee was down, ran for 17 more yards (vikings could have challenged and easily won)
Holding on Lane Taylor that took Graham touchdown away
Missed DPI against vikings on Graham down the sideline
Game changing RTP call on Matthews
Rodgers calling timeout? Not totally sure on this one as I believe the referee has the discretion to not penalize it if its a player making the call and it does not negatively impact the other team.Sadly the refs are becoming more and more a factor in games. Last season it was the catch rule that was different depending on the day and this season you better not do anything other than sneeze on a QB.

Reports are that Bailey has been turning down offers. He may not sign anywhere. Vikings would be a good place to sign though as they are pretty much a lock for the playoffs.
AnonymousInactivePosts: 0orve4Posts: 489September 17, 2018 at 8:24 am #1797897Grew Up a fan of the game after 1998 couldn’t cheer for the vikes anymore to much heart brake. But why do we instantly want to blame the refs for a loss. Vikings fan 3 missed field goal, a blocked punt for a touchdown, a missed challenge when the player was down. After Treadwell’s second drop we targeted him 3 more times. Not addressing poor line play on the offense side. One positive Cousins played a hell of a game.
Green bay you wanna win you need touch downs instead of extra points. Green Bay was the superior team that couldn’t capitalize they dominated on the offensive and defensive line.
I absolutely hate both of the ruffing the passer call but that’s rule and refs are going to call things on the side of cautious. I see nothing wrong with either hit.
September 17, 2018 at 9:52 am #1797918Anything other than a L at Lambeau against #12 (or #4 back in the day) is a win in my book! Factor in the 9 points from missed field goals, and the 10 point donation to the cheese off a blocked punt and Treadwell bobble int, and it would have been a rout!
September 17, 2018 at 11:35 am #1797944I couldn’t believe Treadwell was in the game towards and end and into overtime let alone the fact they were still throwing to him…… Kicker is history.
September 17, 2018 at 12:07 pm #1797951That was just a Fugly game – Doesn’t matter if you are a Packer fan or a Vikings fan. If they continue to play this way – Neither team is going anyplace this year. I will have to say Minnesota played a worse game than GB and still got a Tie – They were the luckier team on this day !!!
