    Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m a kayak angler out of western Canada but joined In-Depth Outdoors to get to know the freshwater fishing epi-center of North America! Recently, I posted a gear list of all the stuff I use on my kayak and I was curious what kind of gear everyone uses out East.

I’m always in search of new gear to try out, so what’s something on your boat that you use every time that others may not think about?

Mine is a little hook file that I keep in my pocket!

Fishing Florida canals and inshore. Hands down it’s the Power-Pole. The canals have hard limestone bottom, that makes a pike pole useless. Also great, in ponds and shallow rivers back at home. Second the Engel cooler with rod holders. Then the Hobie bag on the back of the seat. After 40 some days in it last year. It’s at a point. Unless something new comes out, I wouldn’t change a thing. After fully equipping it. I actually removed a few things.

Pic to the right was an error. Couldn’t figure out how to remove it.

Hey StringTheory, I know you from some other social media sites. Good to see you here. I’m not a kayaker but I know how popular Line Cutterz fishing line cutterz are with kayakers. They are great guys too. They have a few different models like the zipper pull which you can put on any jacket or tackle bag zipper, or the flat mount with you can stick to the hull of your kayak. These things cut fishing line better than anything and they don’t dull. Great for ice fishing also. Check them out.

Hey Mahtofire14! I watched the smackdown outdoors virtual ice show this weekend and they mentioned the line cutterz too. I didnt know about them but will definitely be picking few up this ice season!

That Engel cooler looks perfect for my my next kayak, the 106 pdl. Its a bit to wide for my current Bigwater.
