Does anyone know if the cat tails/wet areas areas are safe to walk on? I would assume so but plan to drive west tomorrow and get the dog some exercise.

Last weekend I would still break through some areas that were cattails or thick grass. The more open it was the more solid it was, the thicker areas are more insulated I think.

I was in Kandiyohi county twice last week and things were pretty solid.

There were a couple of areas that I broke through. I only got one leg wet and we saw a few birds north to the west of Mankato. Lots of Brown roosters. grin

I was out in west/central MN today. Everything was pretty solid, though it was warm, so Ripley ended up wet and muddy. Saw all brownies, too. ☹️ Oh, and a doe that scared the bejesus out of me.

I wound up taking last Friday/Saturday off to do some hunting and it was worth it. Grouse was an unusual find for SE MN.
