I hope to get out Fishing one more time this year and would like to troll sucker minnows for muskies. Me and my son for maybe 3-4 hours. Outside of Minnetonka, if anyone has any recommendations in the West Metro or nearby plz send a PM. I haven’t been dialed in at all the last month or so, and so any input is appreciated. Thx

I don’t fish much for Muskies and have never trolled with suckers. But if the weather is going to be sketchy I would opt for a smaller lake that can offer some wind protection. Have you ever tried Sugar by Annandale?

I haven’t fished Sugar but I agree with you on a smaller lake if the weather is questionable. That’s why I said something besides Minnetonka, if we pick a calm day it’s a good lake – otherwise you’re right, out of the wind would be preferable.

Are you still fishing pike, or done for the year?

    If it’s calm Waconia’s a good option too…

My year never really got going. I think I was up to the lake 2 twice after the 4th of July. That whole work thing got in the way. crazy

I’d second Sugar. There’s some big ones in there.

Waconia or Tonka, nice thing about Tonka is you can always stick to the smaller bays, lots of protected areas.
