With a few exceptions I couldn’t think of a less qualified group of people to give 22yo female recent college grads apartment hunting advice jester

Kidding aside there is some good info here already. To the others you gotta just accept that you have different priorities in life and value different thing a than a 22yo woman. When I was that age I wouldn’t even consider the suburbs, I wanted to walk to the bar after work and stumble home at night and hop a quick bus ride back to work in the morning. 20 years later and my mortgage is barely more than I was paying for rent at that time but I wouldn’t trade those years for anything.

I’d have them stay away from Richfield and Bloomington. Those use to be nice area’s, Not so these days.

    Ridiculous statement.

The original poster asked for peoples opinions. I gave mine. If yours is different then you are entitled to it. I lived in both areas for many years. I also still have friends who live in the area and don’t have a lot of great things to say about the area, and this is their hometown.

    Ridiculous statement.

Agreed, ridiculous statement. Not sure how Thumper would both know how those area’s are, while also refusing to come to the cities anymore…

I lived in both towns for a few years each. I know friends who still live in the area. If you believe its a nice area and would want you daughter living there then go ahead. Look at the crime rates in both cities and I believe you will see a increase over the years. As far as the statement of refusing to come to the cities anymore, The only place I believe I said anything like that was after all the issues in Minneapolis and Saint Paul during and after the riots. I believe my statement was I just no longer go to events in downtown of either of those cities. That statement is still true. Just no desire to. When I lived in the Metro ( Richfield, Bloomington, Burnsville, Savage ) I use to do lots of activities in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul ( Sporting events, Sports shows, Theater shows, Concerts, eating out, shopping, ect. Since the riot events I have not done any of the activities and don’t see myself doing so anytime soon.
