We did the same thing last year and swore never again. Puppy’s can be soooo difficult. We welcomed major milestone after milestone until finally a controllable and good dog. At 1.5 years she is still improving. I told my wife some of the best adult hunting dogs are super troublesome as pups. All that unbridled energy, instinct and intelligence can be overwhelming at times. We will probably do it again……… doah

Good boy! Great looking pup – keep us updated how he progresses as he grows up! Will he be a hunting dog? Upland? Waterfowl?

Best all around dog I ever had was a golden named Rusty. He went about 115 pounds and looked like a lion. HeLL of a bird dog, would steal your sandwich on his way to retrieve a duck. Waited for me at the end of the lane to get off the school bus. He and Molly (the female we had at the same time) were the best pair of upland dogs I have ever seen. I was lucky enough to have grown up with them in the prime of my youth and the prime years of pheasant hunting here in NW Iowa. Good luck with your Rusty!
