Weird Lights In The Sky

So, I’ve been out flathead fishing lately below a popular dam here in Eastern Iowa. The last three sits have been late nighters with little success. However, the last three sits, my brother, buddy, and I, have been seeing lots of lights moving in the sky, most activity is from 10:00pm-11:30pm. The lights don’t blink, but just move across the sky. I’ve seen similar lights before, but recently we’ve been seeing upwards of 60-70 of them in that timespan. They don’t just travel one direction, ie. east to west, but from all points of the compass. I’m not particularly inclined to worry about aliens and what not, but one night there were over 40 of them moving through the sky, from all different directions. We’ve been even seeing some some odd flashes and then a light will be there moving off after the flash. Please let me know if anyone else has been seeing these. I’m starting to worry that the Men in Black will be showing up soon. If they’re Elon Musk satellites, he may want to hire some farm hands to keep them grouped up better.

I’d guess starlink satellites.

Sounds like satellites. You can download a tracker app. You would be surprised how many pass overhead every night. Some nights have much better visibility and much easier to see.

Sounds like electric skyfish. They bite on frogs, but the trick is to cast straight up into the air, they usually don’t bite until the very end of the drop so let it fall all they way back down. Remember cast straight up into the air above you.

Definitely aliens. Those dirty dogs. They are sending out a signal humans can’t hear, that’s the reason fishing was tough

I didn’t say they were aliens, but I don’t know what they are. Could be the spirit of Walter Mondale for all I know.

That made me actually LOL. Did they burn out? Like a meteor shower or something? Satellites aren’t that bright, so meteors or aliens are tied at the top of the list right now tbh.

Thank you BigWerm, I put a lot of thought into that reply, I was chuckling as I typed it. As far as what it did, it just worked it’s way across the horizon. Didn’t really do anything other then float across the sky. I’m not lying, I have my brother and buddy to back me up, we’ve been seeing upwards of 70 of them a night. I can’t explain what they are. This picture is the brightest one seen, they very from dim and really high up there to lower and brighter.

Well at least they are not falling down or looking like a craft making a landing touch down.

Looks like some guys ice castle with a strobe light on top of their flag pole.

I had a similar experience early this spring although mine were smaller than what is shown in the photo. Had groups of two to five moving around to the west of me. They did not appear to be high enough for satellites and moved randomly over a smaller area. It seemed to me like some group might be flying drones after dark with clearance lights as sometimes they would be flashing slowly. Never di figure out what they were. No alcohol or mind-altering supplements were involved either.

I bet those aliens lock their doors when fly by Planet Earth.

Maybe they’re Russian weather balloons.

Not sure but I’m leaning towards aliens. The “orb” style UFO’s are really common. Look up videos of them on YouTube and read through some of the comment chains to see how many people have near identical experiences. It’s pretty intriguing how they change colors and speed/direction in ways that nothing man made(known, at least) can.

I’d REALLY like to say they’re aliens, but unfortunately what you’re seeing is more light pollution from humans.

The timing you’re seeing them is when the sun is at the longest angle to things above you, and satellites are acting as mirrors.

Thank you Elon for your ultra-low orbit satellites…not sure how they made anything better?
