Up here on the tundra they are forecasting 40’s until a week from tomorrow. Please be right this time! Those mid 40’s yesterday sure felt good. Downside is the snowmobiling is in the crapper for the year I think. We will likely get another blast of snow but the frigid cold should be done. yay

I want to get another LOW trip in so dont rush to warm weather and rain yet. I was hoping for a end of season trip in April because prior to that isnt really in the cards for me. With the new snow we received here over the weekend and yesterday’s sun it was melting off my roof so fast that it was pouring out of my gutter downspouts like it was a downpour!

Spring is coming. I see nothing but 40’s in the 10 day forecast and 50’s by the weekend. Say goodbye to winter.

Of course, the last three Aprils we’ve had significant snowfalls…but I think Dutchboy is right, we are done with frigid cold air now. A warm rain would really put a dent into things.

Left the house at 1am and pulled on site at 635. Not bad timing at all. 1 diesel stop in between. Roads were beautiful

I’m hoping it will stay warm enough where the FW can get some spring cleaning done in the boat. It’s a mess!

Lot’s of boats going through Red Wing yesterday. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I’m seeing potential record warmth next week for the Twin Cities. 61 on Monday, 65 on Tuesday, 58 and rainy on Wednesday.

Just 2 weeks ago it -20 at night for like a week straight.

The ice is going to go fast this year. Warm Temps, Wind, No snow cover, Rain. these things eat ice fast. I got picture from a buddy who was out in ottertail county this morning and the landing they used is already starting to look rough. It will be a mess by the end of the weekend for sure. I normally love ice out fishing but if it only last a week or Two I’m fine with that.

I really don’t think you will have a problem Winnie for next weekend. After next Tues. there looks to be a little cool down. I think the nightly lows will probably offset the damage from daily hi’s. The landings will probably come down to what side of the lake they are on and how much auto traffic they get this weekend.

Yesterday was beautiful up here. Snow is going fast. The ice road is closed again at the Park entrance to trucks. It was mid 40’s when I got up this morning. They are talking maybe hitting 60. Going back to normal highs tomorrow but it sure feels good. Spring is coming although I’m pretty sure we will get dumped on with snow a couple more times yet.

There is virtually no snow left in my front yard this morning. I still have some in the shade in the back that faces the north. Rain tomorrow and then more seasonal temps to follow.

Three years in a row we’ve had significant snow in the first half of April…
