I’m heading up to Mille Lacs Friday morning and I’m wondering if I can access the lake through the wealthwood public access with my truck, or is it a mess and I’ll need my snowmobile to go out at that location? Any insight on that public access within the last week would be great. Thank you!
I’m guessing you’d have issues driving your truck over the heave. I’d pay the $10 go out of Red Door or Myr Mar. Travel off the roads isn’t too bad at all as long as you are paying attention & not driving into a big drift.
Thank you, I didn’t know there was a big heave there and that’s the input I was looking for.
Due to a heave that’s steep and waist high, the access is shot as of last Saturday. You could maybe climb a snowmobile over it. Plus, there’s sometimes a moving crack on the north end about 100-200 yards from shore. The resorts often bridge it.
