My vexilar has been acting up lately. I cant see my jig once it drops down past 10ft. Sometimes if i swing and fiddle with the cord and hold it in my hand ill see a brief flicker of my jig. I can mark fish no problem but it wont pick up the jig. Got a brand new battery for the unit too. Dont know if the transducer is bad or if there is a kink in the wiring somewhere? Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated!

If you need to adjust your gain over half way to see your lure your transducer is going or gone bad. If you are on the ice and a buddy has a Vex and will let you try his transducer and it fixes your problem then it’s your transducer that’s bad. I’m running a Pro View on a FL22 and love it.

The transducer should have a constant audible clicking sound to the ducer. I have seen there there is a break in the wire right at the grommet where the wire comes out of the transducer. You could push the wire one direction or together and the ducer would start to click, let go if the wire and it would stop. There could also be a break anywhere in the length of the wire or even a poor connection at the plug itself.
If you don’t have the constant snapping sound I would spend some time fiddling with the wire to see if the issue lies there.
