I was in college and had season tickets during the peak of the Randy Moss years. Moss, Robert Smith, John Randle, Culpepper and the Sheriff. I love watching the Purple People Eater footage but I just wasn’t alive at that time – I’m sure it would’ve been my favorite – back when they had to have off-season jobs, they smoked on the sidelines and they parked where the fans did and often had beers with them after the game in the tailgate lots. That would’ve been fun. But I’ll have to settle for the drama of the late 90s Vikings.
Nobody took the top off a defense like…straight cash homey Randy Moss! Also really unique talents that I was a huge fan of were AP’s speed/power combo, Barry Sanders agility, Mike Alstott’s power, Tom Rathman tenacity, LT’s everything, Johnny Randle’s motor, Kevin Greene and Gregg Lloyd turning the corner on a pass rush.
Randy moss really was something to watch.
Moss, Reed, and carter were awesome
mike vick.
my first forray out of b10 style football was went i went to school in VA. we went to a VAtech game and was completely blown away and continued to enjoy him on the football field. not necessarily off.
Carter, AP, Moss, Favre on a good day.
Almost too bad AP is still playing because now he is only good. It usually comes down to the offensive line and when the RB runs up the middle and I think:”nothing there” that will be true. How many times did I think that and then I’m like:Waite! He came out of that mess! And is still running!

I think with Viking fans thats what we will find. Us old dogs fondly remember the Super Bowl years of the 70’s and you younger guys got hooked on Moss & company. The Moss years are my second favorite times. That said, that first year of his was like something i’ve never seen.
Way to stir the pot Dutch.
But I loved watching Fran the Man!
I guess I coulda gone Bill Brown or Dave Osborn.
I’ve been watching pro games since the 1960’s and there were too many great football players and too many generations gone by to start naming all of the players that stood out, but if I were going to pick one, I think that Bo Jackson was probably the most physically talented player that I ever watched play. Before he was injured, he was the best that I’ve ever seen.
The Vikings defense in the 70’s was great but the offence was great with the true inventor of the west cost offence Jerry Burns. They had a nasty line Fran at QB, Sammy White and Rashad at wide receiver. Don’t forget the running backs Mcclanahan and Forman.
The 94 and 95 Husker teams. Greatest cfb teams of all times. Offense and defenses that dominated. Crushed Warren Sapp. Beat Florida 62-24.
Barry Sanders. Randy Moss. Todd Baumann. Jeff George. Brad Johnson.
Thread over.
Remember Hershel? That 1st punt return for a TD, in that play I was a believer, after not so much. He was fast, strong, focused, he should have been great-they gave away everything to get him, it has has been described as the worst trade in all of sports.Vikes for ya.
Paul Krause
Watching Joey Browner crush people.
The Vikes have always been blessed with very good receivers.
Ronnie Lott, back when you could still tackle someone without having a penalty flag.

Oh God, how could I forget Uncle Burnsie! The press conference where he went off is legendary and spawned the best bits in the history of the KQ Morning Show (back when that was good).

I love that interview, vikes won with 7 field goals and 2 safteys or something and rams lost while scoring 2 or 3 tds. My dad used to be this guy when he coached our youth ball. Him and the assistant were hard as heck on us kids.
And I still thank the lord for that. Now Billy needs a turn these days at qb otherwise its just not “fair”
Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Paul Hornung, Max McGee, Forrest Gregg, Ray Nitchske, Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thurston, Bob Skoronski. There was none of this “hey, look at me” chest pumping in front of the cameras after you made a good play back then. If you did, the next time you stepped on the field you’d get your head taken off.

Killer instinct!
Joey Browner. Grab the horse collar and rip guys over backward with nothing but arm strength!
Earl
He has badass run against the Rams at the 3 minute mark.
