Aaron Martens passed away today after a 19 month battle with brain cancer. It’s a sad day for the bass fishing community. He was and always will be a legend of the sport. He was 49 years old.

BASS broke the news last night on the book of face. I seen it and my heart sank, the guy was truly a legend. I don’t think there is or ever will be a guy that can finesse fish quite like Aaron. He was a powerhouse and couldn’t ever be counted out from making a run at 1st place. He was a great ambassador to the sport and will truly be missed.

Saw this on here this am and called a bass buddy that fished with Aaron in the late nineties in the lake Shasta CA BASS open He has always said that he was the nicest pro that he fished with Aaron even let him use acouple of his st Croix rods. At that time we were using the BPS pro qualifier models thinking that they were great. Sounds like he was a great guy and had a great family his mom even fished the CA opens at that time

Awful news. Been seeing all the anglers’ tributes to him all over social media. You can tell by what they’ve said how great of a man he was. Not just an angler. RIP

R.I.P. Aaron. You never heard any dirty scuttle butt about him.

Remember he set the one day MLF record of 88 pounds on Pokegama? I think he did most/all of it drop-shotting. A finesse fishing legend –
